Plenty of Dallas Cowboys had breakout seasons in 2023 and are being recognized for their outstanding play.
There were five Cowboy players on the First-team All-Pro list this week, more than any NFL team this season.
Dallas was in the top five regarding team offense and defense in 2023, while they had the most accurate field goal kicker throughout the campaign.
Therefore, most of the Cowboy selections came as no surprise.
Here’s a look at those players and what they achieved in 2023.
The First-teamers
Among the league leaders for sacks allowed in 2023, Tyler Smith put together an exceptional campaign, finishing in a tie for voting alongside Cleveland’s Joel Bitonio, with the second-year Cowboy earning First-team All-Pro honors for the first time.
Zack Martin was equally dominant along the line of scrimmage, earning the seventh Al-Pro selection of his career, playing over 900 snaps this season.
The 2023 campaign was supposed to be when Trevon Diggs makes good on his massive contract.
An injury ended that hope last fall, but his replacement performed exceptionally well.
DaRon Bland set an NFL single-season pick-six record (five) while leading the league in interceptions (nine).

CeeDee Lamb was a slam dunk to be a First-team All-Pro, setting a Cowboys single-season record for catches and yards in a season while finishing second in receiving yards (1,749).
Even though his NFL rookie record of consecutive field goals ended at 35 last Sunday, Brandon Aubrey is another deserving First-team All-Pro.
The former soccer player turned kicker was the most dependable placekicker this season, going a perfect 10/10 from 50 yards or beyond, finishing with the highest field goal percentage in the NFL (94.7%).
First-team Snubs
While few would argue with those First-team All-Pro selections, there were a pair of notable omissions.
The biggest head-scratcher was Micah Parsons.
Parsons led the NFL in QB pressures this season (103) while also registering 14 sacks.
Roquan Smith and Fred Warner were the two All-Pro selections at the off-ball linebacking position.
Meanwhile, Maxx Crosby and Myles Garrett were selected as edge rushers.
Crosby had a half sack more than Parsons, while Garret and Parsons each had 14 sacks.
Roquan Smith finished fifth in tackles (158), with Warner at 132.
Those two combined to make four sacks, while Parsons made 64 tackles.
Maybe Parsons, constant complaining on social media became too off-putting for voters because his numbers were First-team worthy.
This might fuel his fire or cause more rants on X.
Dak Prescott didn’t make the First-team All-Pro cut either, though that isn’t as big of a surprise, seeing as only one spot was available.
Although Prescott led the NFL in TD passes (36), taking that honor away from Lamar Jackson would be difficult.
Jackson only tossed seven interceptions, put up a rating of 102.7, and was the most consistent quarterback of 2023.
While neither Parsons nor Prescott will be a First-team All-Pro, there’s a good chance they’ll make the Second-team All-Pro list.
