The trade involving L’Jarius Sneed has provided Kansas City with a good amount of money in the salary cap to make new free-agency moves.
On Monday night, the Kansas City Chiefs announced the signing of the veteran quarterback Carson Wentz.
Under a one-year contract, the QB will be Patrick Mahomes’ backup and will be available in case something happens to the starter.
The announcement sparked a discussion about KC’s class of signal-callers since the landing of Pat Mahomes.
Fans and lovers of the game replied and reposted the NFL’s tweet on X about the decision taken by the franchise – most of them were jokes.
“Hes gonna be the Nick Foles to the Chiefs and win their three-peat” – @xqevolve
“Funny to say. But I actually don’t hate this. WentZ has a very similar skill set to Chad Henne, who was effective for Kansas City” – @Lorenzob313
“It’s weird I ain’t even mad at him as I was years ago! Good luck to him! Who knows… Maybe Andy Reid can put him back on the market!” – @DesertEagleX90
“The jersey colection this guy has got going on is getting kind of fun” – @thow15
Actually, there’s a good plot twist in this story involving Wentz’s deal with the Chiefs.

NFL Network’s Chase Daniel has come with some surprising news to the Chiefs Kingdom. Apparently, the organisation wanted to bring the quarterback last year.
There’s no information about what the terms that Kansas City offered the 31-year-old were, but, but according to the journalist “he thought he was worth more than Chiefs offered & he ended up in LA”.
Truth be told: having a solid backup like Wentz isn’t something many teams can afford. He is, in fact, the best reserve QB the Chiefs have had since 2017.
Even though he’s not a threat to Mahomes’ starting spot, he’s a reliable player to have on hand at any time of need.
