One player in the NFL can compete with Patrick Mahomes and knock off the Chiefs, says Louis Riddick

The Kansas City Chiefs are toasting another Super Bowl win and want to get stronger and stronger.

Patrick Mahomes is a winner, and he has to return for next season with the same desire and hunger he had to win this season and the last.

He will be competing against teams who are desperate to beat the Chiefs, who are now viewed as a major scalp for any opponent capable of beating them when it matters.

That’s easier said than done. Just ask Buffalo and Baltimore, whose dreams were crushed by the unstoppable Chiefs.

So who can possibly beat the Chiefs in 2025? One man believes he has the answer.

The one team who could beat Kansas City

Kansas City have now won two Super Bowls in a row and three during the Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid era. And they will be back for more.

According to former NFL safety Louis Riddick, the one man best placed to lead the fight against Kansas City is AFC rival Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals.

Riddick told the Stephen A Smith show: “There’s one cat in the entire league who mentally can compete with Patrick and raise the bar of the people around him, that’s Joe Burrow. He’s proven it.

“Just like Patrick was in everybody’s head, Joe Burrow was in Patrick’s head. That’s a fact. He was driving the team crazy.

“When he comes back, he’s the one guy that was there with him. Cinci is going to be a problem.”

Burrow has defeated the Chiefs in the AFC title game two years ago and has a strong record against Mahomes, although lost on Kansas City’s path to winning it last year.

This past season was a difficult one for Burrow, who entered the season hobbled, and finished it on Injured Reserve.

He will hope a clean slate of health can give the Bengals a shot next season, but Kansas City won’t be easy to beat at all, and Mahomes is even more mentally resilient than he was before.

Riddick adds there are two NFC teams he expects to stay in the mix, commenting: “Detroit will take another leg up. Don’t count San Francisco out. San Fran will continue to be there.”
