Bayless says Jerry Jones ‘got played’ in previous negotiations
The Undisputed presenter has suggested the Ezekiel Elliot and Dak Prescott contract negotiations from 2019 and 2021 play on the owner’s mind.
On Undisputed, the Cowboys fan said: “Jerry Jones knows what happened with Zeke (Elliott) and Dak (Prescott) the last time. He got played by both of them.
“Jerry does not like to lose negotiations and he effectively lost both of them badly. They both became bad bets because they didn’t give him any bang for the buck.”
The Cowboys owner has stated that he has tried to learn from the Elliott negotiation.

In 2019, the former Cowboys running back decided to withhold from training camp to leverage a new deal.

One year later, Prescott was placed on the franchise tag after his rookie deal was set to expire.
Furthermore, Jones placed a second tag on the quarterback the following year.
Worried about the price of the tag, Jones crumbled again and gave Prescott a four-year deal worth $160 million with $126 million fully guaranteed.
