The Dallas Cowboys are entering a decisive season that could see various key figures depart if the results do not meet expectations once again.
Jerry Jones’ standards are sky-high and he has issued a warning that is willing to oversee a full-scale turnover if he is let down in 2024.
The 81-year-old owner is desperate for playoff success after it is approaching three decades since their last Super Bowl victory.
The Dallas Cowboys have been starved off postseason success despite their royal history
America’s Team won three Super Bowls in four years between 1992 and 1995 but has failed to get as far as the NFC Championship since.
Eight-season veteran Dak Prescott is entering the final year of his mega-cap hit contract.
The 81-year-old owner has not decided to extend his franchise QB and every passing day sees the odds increase that there will not be one.

Moreover, the leverage Prescott holds has pushed Jerry’s back up to the wall but the intelligent businessman has not quivered.
In addition, head coach Mike McCarthy is also entering the final year of his four-year deal.
Two key pillars of the franchise are looking at the chance of seeking new opportunities in 2025.
Mike McCarthy has been allowed to see out his contract with one last crack at the job
Surprisingly, despite several calls for his firing, Jerry Jones decided to persist with the head coach and let him see out his deal.
Mike Florio speculated that the Cowboys owner wanted to avoid paying out McCarthy’s contract if he was not working for him.
Nonetheless, this has not stopped some from predicting who the next head coach will be in Dallas.
Bill Belichick is interested in working for Jerry Jones, per ESPN
Legendary head coach Bill Belichick is the name leading the race for the job in 2025.
An ESPN report claimed that a close friend of Belichick stated he would only want to work for Jerry Jones.
After mutually agreeing to leave the New England Patriots, the 72-year-old found himself without a job for the first time in 43 years.
He held talks with the Atlanta Falcons for their vacant position but lost out to Raheem Morris.
Furthermore, the eight-time Super Bowl-winning coach has been rumored to be waiting for Mike McCarthy’s job.
Bill Belichick is ‘pretty much official’ to be the Cowboys head coach in 2025
Cowboys reporter Mike Fisher has claimed that the writing looks on the wall for the arrival of Belichick in 2025.
“It’s pretty much as “official” as it is unfair: Mike McCarthy is at The Star, renting Bill Belichick’s office,” Fisher wrote on Athlon Sports.
“We will concede that McCarthy’s status as a ‘lame-duck’ coach who might need to win a Super Bowl to retain his job creates a situation in which ‘The Ghost of Belichick’ will be haunting the halls here inside The Star every time the 2024 [team] lose a game … or hell, maybe every time they lose a fumble.”
McCarthy knows that his job is on the line in 2024 and to turn up the heat the most decorated head coach in NFL history is looking over his shoulder.
Anything less than an NFC Championship appearance for the franchise will see the head coach clean out his desk.
Ultimately, McCarthy may feel his fate has already been sealed this offseason after several key starters were allowed to walk.
