The Kansas City Chiefs have been active on Day 3 of the NFL Draft but Clark Hunt has provided a significant update on the Chiefs’ next steps on their dilemma with Arrowhead Stadium.

Brett Veach has selected Travis Kelce’s future successor at Jared Wiley in the fourth round.

In addition, the Chiefs took safety Jaden Hicks and Hunter Nourzad at picks #133 and #159 respectively.

Despite being in the middle of the NFL Draft, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt has shared an important update on their next steps for Arrowhead Stadium.

Chiefs lose stadium tax vote which makes the franchise’s future unclear

At the start of the month, the Chiefs lost a landslide tax vote that would have provided imperative renovative funding for Arrowhead Stadium.

The Jackson County residents decided to reject the Chiefs stadium tax extension and now the future of the franchise is unclear.

Chiefs President Mark Donovan stated that all options were on the table for the team if they lost the vote.

They comfortably lost and now a question mark looms over the franchise in Missouri.

Kansas City could have to accept that the Chiefs are willing to move out of the city and the state.

Moreover, the Mayor of Kansas City claimed he was hopeful the franchise could find a solution.

The Chiefs’ partnership with the Royals could be in hot water

The Kansas City Chiefs had partnered with the Kansas City Royals to propose a concept.

Arrowhead Stadium would be redeveloped and the Royals would have a new home built.

Now, their partnership could be forced to separate.

Chiefs reporter Pete Sweeney posted on X: “Chiefs owner Clark Hunt said that he believes it makes the most sense right now to work independently from the Royals in terms of future stadium plans.”

The two teams, who were united with a dream, may be forced to pursue independent solutions.

Furthermore, the NFL has never been shy to move teams across The States.

Only four years ago, the Oakland Raiders moved the franchise to Las Vegas after they ran into the same problem as the Chiefs.

NFL experts share their opinions about the Chiefs’ future

The Chiefs’ lease on Arrowhead does not expire until 2031 but they must start planning for a future outside of Missouri.

Mike Florio has stated that franchise owners should be able to afford their stadiums.

NFL expert John Middlekauff understands why the bill was rejected in today’s economic climate.

The future is unclear for the Chiefs but they are set to part ways with the Royals and find their solution.
