Rashee Rice has been at the center of the Chiefs’ offseason and one NFL expert believes that the franchise does not need to rely on their troubled wide receiver.
Head Coach Andy Reid and offensive coordinator Matt Nagy may be drawing up new plans and schemes that do not involve Rashee Rice.
The wide receiver is expected to be receiving a lengthy suspension for the 2024 season regardless of his legal battle outcome.

Rashee Rice issues
The 24-year-old posted bail and is now being investigated weeks later for a separate incident at a nightclub.
However, this was only been investigated by the police and he has not been arrested or charged with a crime.
Rice was one of the outstanding rookies in the NFL last season and expectations were high going into 2024.
The Pennsylvanian second-round pick out of SMU has proved to be a steal with his performances on the pitch.
However, his offseason behavior has him wrapped up in a precarious situation and his football career could be in doubt.
NFL expert suggests the Chiefs are ‘fine’ if Rashee Rice is suspended
The Chiefs will be considering all the scenarios that they may be dealt with, one being that Rice may not be available for a prolonged period or the rest of the season.
On First Things First, Chris Broussard quickly pointed out that the Chiefs do not need Rashee Rice.
“They don’t need Rashee Rice, they won two (Super Bowls) without Tyreek Hill. They’ll be fine without Rashee Rice,” Broussard said on the daytime show.
“Like, I don’t need Rashee Rice and to be honest, if he’s guilty of this, I’m not saying they’re definitely cutting him, but what are you doing?”
Broussard has even questioned if the Chiefs should cut ties with Rice regardless of his trial verdict.
Broussard believes the departure of Tyreek Hill proves the Chiefs can win without Rice
In addition, the NFL expert suggests that Rice’s absence will not be felt as they have proved they can win rings without star talent.
Tyreek Hill was demanding money that would make him the highest-paid wide receiver in 2022 and the Chiefs traded him away to the Miami Dolphins.
As a result, they had accumulated several draft picks which have been crucial to building their dynasty.
Furthermore, Patrick Mahomes has proved he can win a Super Bowl without a star-studded receiving core.
Although the Chiefs will be desperate to keep Rice, it may not be catastrophic if they are forced to play without him.
