The Kansas City Chiefs have addressed multiple offseason issues and began their franchise workouts.

Brett Veach has carefully strategized after their Super Bowl win in Las Vegas and made sure they are as best prepared before the draft.

Moreover, the front office has had to navigate carefully around the cap space restrictions.

They have re-signed numerous players like Chris Jones, Mike Danna, Drue Tranquill, and many more.

Chiefs opt to re-sign Clyde Edwards-Helaire from free agency

On offense, they have also made moves to show continuity in collaboration with adding explosive talent.

The Chiefs decided to re-sign their former running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire from free agency.

His rookie deal expired after Super Bowl LVIII and he hit the open market.

However, the Chiefs felt inclined to reinstate the former employer as a backup to Isaiah Pacheco.

Yet, just that same day the Chiefs were showing around another free-agent rusher.

J.K. Dobbins only used as ‘leverage’ suspects former player

J.K. Dobbins was being given a tour of the Chiefs facilities and looked keen to sign with the team.

Instead, hours later it was confirmed that Edwards-Helaire had put pen to paper on a new deal to exit free agency.

The former Baltimore Ravens running back was left to find another team.

Furthermore, former quarterback Chase Daniel suspected Dobbins was only used as ‘leverage’ to force Edwards-Helaire to sign.

After missing out on a Chiefs roster spot, it has been confirmed that 14 days later he has found a new team.

The ex-Raven joins his old teammate Gus Edwards at the Los Angeles Chargers.

Dobbins joins the Chiefs’ division rivals in a new era for the Chargers

Dobbins joins the Chiefs AFC West division rivals after potentially being messed around by Kansas City.

Per Tom Pelissero, the Chargers have confirmed a one-year deal with the injury-prone running back.

He joins a vital rebuild in L.A. with a new head coaching era led by Jim Harbaugh.

The 25-year-old has the perfect opportunity to demonstrate while the Chiefs may regret not signing him up.

Ultimately, Dobbins will get two opportunities to face the Chiefs in 2024 as he looks to stay healthy and earn a bigger deal.
