The Kansas City Chiefs have seen a familiar face link up with one of their bitter rivals of recent years as Marquez Valdez-Scantling has joined the Buffalo Bills.
Brett Veach has been active during the offseason and made a quick decision to cut the two-time Super Bowl champion.
Only 16 days after getting his hands on the Vince Lombardi Trophy once again, the Kansas City Chiefs decided to cut the wide receiver for financial purposes.

Chiefs decide to cut Marquez Valdes-Scantling in crucial salary cap move
The move saved the franchise $12 million on the cap, which opened up precious money to invest in other areas.
Moreover, the decision proved decisive as the Chiefs used that money to tie down Chris Jones to a five-year extension – the highest-paid defensive tackle.
Valdes-Scantling has remained patient in the open market for over two months and has now agreed terms with the Buffalo Bills.
Per Dianna Russini, the speedy wide receiver has penned a one-year deal worth $4.5 million.
During his spell in Missouri, the 29-year-old struggled to build upon his 687 receiving yard season in his debut year.
Valdes-Scantling always put on a show in crucial stages of the playoffs
However, the ex-Chief managed to shine when it came to the do-or-die playoffs.
In the 2022 AFC Championship clash against the Cincinnati Bengals, MVS registered 116 yards off six receptions and caught a crucial touchdown.
The following year, after a career-low receiving yards in the regular season (315 yards), he managed to find his feet in the playoffs.
He caught a vital 32-yard third down conversion just before the two-minute warning allowing the Chiefs to run down the clock in the AFC Championship decider.
At Super Bowl LVIII, MVS hauled in a pivotal touchdown to send the Chiefs on their way to secure another ring.
Chiefs take to X to share their reactions to MVS joining the Bills in free agency
Fans have shared mixed reactions to the news of their former player linking up with an AFC rival in free agency on X.
@Papa03357239 reasonably responded: “I’m a Chiefs fan and this guy is very inconsistent with catching the ball and you will never know when he will catch or not. But he is a good field stretcher in terms of speed. With how Allen throws the ball (very strong), just hope he catches it.”
@RowdySal took a dig at the signing, suggesting: “This was an inside job by the Chiefs.”
Additionally, so did @LukasHubbard: “As a Chiefs fan this is great news.”
@JesusPatMahomes had a positive outlook: “MVS had a rough go of it at times but he pulled through for us when we really needed him.”
@SnapDragon432 is fearful MVS could come back to haunt them: “People will laugh at this, but I feel like there’s a non-zero chance playoff Marquez is gonna end up knocking the Chiefs outta the divisional round or something lmao.”
@ayeeecaleb: “U need some drops? there you go.”
@HeyJay76: “Every chiefs fan rejoice!”
