One of the big free agent names has teamed up with the Baltimore Ravens in free agency and one of the Chiefs’ rivals has now got stronger.
Derrick Henry has joined the Baltimore Ravens and will be teaming up with Lamar Jackson in the Ravens backfield.
The 2019 and 2020 NFL rushing leader joins the Maryland franchise on a two-year deal worth $16 million.
Derrick Henry lands in Baltimore
Henry was the cream of the crop in the stacked running back market in free agency.
After weeks of strong indication that Henry would be a Raven, the player dubbed ‘The King’ made it official.

Ravens quarterback Jackson will be welcoming Henry with open arms as their rushing ability will be devastating for defenses across the league.
The four-time Pro Bowler managed to finish with 1,167 yards on the ground behind one of the worst O-Lines last year.
Additionally, the regular season MVP Jackson is the best-rushing quarterback in the business.
Jackson rushed for 841 yards in 2023 and produced a monstrous 1,206 yards in 2019.
These two will be a deadly duo and a nightmare for defensive coordinators.
Baltimore seeks revenge
Baltimore fell just short of the Super Bowl last season at the hands of future world champions the Kansas City Chiefs.
Patrick Mahomes stunned M&T Bank Stadium as they managed to put the brakes on the Ravens offense.
With the addition of King Henry could this be the factor that overcomes the Chiefs if they meet next year?
Former NFL wide receiver James Jones, told FS1’s Speak: “They (Ravens) were in the AFC Championship last year, number one seed against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“Who we feel were in the AFC Championship with their (Chiefs) worst team. Coming out of the AFC Championship we were saying why didn’t they (Ravens) run the football? Todd Monken came out and said ‘I want to put the ball in my quarterbacks’ hands’.
“No one could argue that, MVP of the NFL, put the ball in the quarterbacks’ hands. I think this helps Monken and I think this helps them get over the hump of the Kansas City Chiefs.”
A new threat in the AFC
Derrick Henry will now bring a new threat that the Kansas City Chiefs would need to carefully prepare for.
Moreover, Henry has joined the Ravens as he wants to cap off his career with a Super Bowl ring.
If they do meet again in the playoffs next year, could the Ravens crush the ambition of the historical three-peat?
They have an even better chance now.
