The Kansas City Chiefs have picked up their latest Super Bowl LVIII rings to mark the conclusion of spring as they welcome the summer break.

Their ring Super Bowl ring ceremony will seem like an annual tradition for the players, alongside the presidential visit to the White House the week before.

For some players, these were their third rings with the Kansas City Chiefs, with other victories coming back in 2019 and 2022.

Their win has opened the door for the three-peat opportunity and the culture is motivated to become the first team to do so in NFL history.

However, there are still questions that need to be answered on both sides of the ball before they take to the field on the opening day.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach will be figuring out a plan to protect Patrick Mahomes’ blindside in 2024

Andy Reid will need to find the perfect solution to their offensive line on Mahomes blindside.

Donovan Smith, the starter in 2023, was brought in on a one-year deal after eight seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The one-year deal has expired and with another ring to his collection, Smith has landed back into the free agency pool.

General Manager Brett Veach stated they were more focused on their younger talent in an offseason interview.

Andy Reid explains the pending situation at left tackle and shows the competition is open

Patrick Mahomes’ blindside remains unprotected at left tackle and Andy Reid has explained their offseason approach.

During a mandatory minicamp interview, Reid stated: “We’re going to end up playing the five best guys. . . We’ll see how it all plays out.”

Sophomore season approaching Wanya Morris and rookie Kingsley Suamataia are set to fight it out for the starting role.

Nonetheless, the BYU project will have to leave a strong showing for Andy Reid and his teammate has one season to his name in the NFL.

Furthermore, Reid has hinted that competition stretches beyond Morris and Suamataia, with several players getting reps at left tackle.

In 2023, Morris had to start four games in Smith’s place because the current free agent suffered an injury.

Per the Chiefs, both aspiring starters have made good progress in the offseason and the competition is just getting started.

After the summer break, preseason training will be in full swing and the pair will lock horns to get the nod over the other for 2024.
