Two of the top free-agent wide receiver prospects were Marquise Brown and Mike Williams.
As we know, Hollywood Brown has signed a one-year deal valued at up to $11 million.
The signing has brought a rave of excitement to the fan base and the reality of Brown and Patrick Mahomes linking up has produced excitement.
Tranquill called towards Brown and Williams
Ironically, newly reigned Drue Tranquill took to X previously to call on both targets to consider a move to KC.
The linebackers asked both Williams and Brown if they fancied a ring this year.
In the days following, Hollywood verbally committed his services to the Chiefs.

Andy Reid even got involved to message the receiver and convince him to join the ‘three-peat’ season.
On the other hand, Mike Williams has landed with the New York Jets.
He will be receiving passes from future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers.
Although, the former LA Charger has also followed Brown on a one-year deal.
However, the 29-year-old has joined on a contract worth a potential $15 million.
Both players will have various incentives within their deals to reach their maximum contract values.
Brown chooses to take less money
The new Chiefs star’s contract is worth $4 million less than the new Jets acquisition.
Brown openly said he opted to take less money to join the franchise.
Kansas City has got a bargain for their new receiver with the current market valuing him higher.
Travis Kelce said in his recent New Heights podcast that Brown is ‘worth every penny’.
All in all, Hollywood has had no track record of being severely injury-prone.
The fewest games he has recorded in one season is 12.
Andy Reid would like to maintain that and hope he can be a regular contributor in every game next season.
Williams ACL tear might also be a problem
In contrast, Williams had produced consistent numbers before his ACL tear in week 3 last year.
The problem with an ACL tear, is you can now become susceptible to suffering the same injury.
In addition, both target men have managed just a loan 1,000-yard season in their careers.
Nevertheless, it must be considered that Williams has played two seasons more in comparison to Brown.
Overall, the Chiefs have paid $4 million less for a receiver with a healthier track record at a younger.
Brown brings a new dynamic to the Chiefs offense which they have been lacking.
Williams is also a fantastic addition to the Jets’ offense and will be an immense receiver if he can remain healthy.
What we do know is, that both players are playing on one-year deals in the hope of landing multi-million-dollar contracts in 2025.
