The behind-the-scenes look at the huge signing made by KC this offseason shows that even the mind of the new player is already conditioned to win.
The landing of Hollywood Brown with the Kansas City Chiefs is giving fans a growing reason to cling to the possibility of winning a third back-to-back Super Bowl.
Last week, KC announced the signing of the wide receiver – a one-year deal worth up to $11 million. On Monday, the player held a press conference via Zoom and said that his desire to play for the Chiefs is not about the money, but what he can achieve as a player and lover of the game.
“When the Chiefs are interested in you, you gotta take a look at them. I can go get some money at other places, but at the end of the day, it’s about winning.”
The WR, who mentioned that he prefers to be called “Hollywood”, brought up the main reasons why he had chosen the Chiefs as his new home for the next year.
“Pat was a big part of it, being able to play with Pat (and) coach (Andy) Reid (in a) winning culture. The offense, you know, I feel like I could come in, I can help, I could fit in. All of those things played a part and they were strong on me, so it’s kind of mutual interest that is very appealing.”

Patrick Mahomes’ new target isn’t even 27 yet and seems to have plenty of time to showcase his talent and maximize his potential within a winning and ambitious squad.
“I feel like I can come in and complement the guys they have here. And coach Reid? He’s a mastermind. Patrick Mahomes — I’m excited to work with everyone.”
In his time with the Baltimore Ravens and Arizona Cardinals, Hollywood was able to prove himself in average teams that didn’t give him victorious paths.
His performances in the 2021 season in Baltimore were the best of his entire career so far: 91 receptions for 1,008 yards and six touchdowns.
What the future holds in KC
The chance to play with Patrick Mahomes is indeed an achievement – and a privilege for few. The receiver is motivated to play the season of his life next to the best quarterback in the NFL.
“From the outside looking in, he (Mahomes) just seems like a guy that’s very passionate.”
“And I’m a very passionate person. Wants to do everything necessary to win. That’s what you want. You want to play with someone who is going to push you to the next level. I feel like he’s one of those guys.”
The Chiefs signal-caller also spoke openly about how he expects Hollywood to contribute to the team and that the future promises great things.
“He [Brown] just brings a tonne of dynamic playmaking ability.
“I think just adding a guy like that to come in and work and be hungry and I’ve already talked to him. There will be a lot of throwing sessions in our future and we’re just gonna keep this thing rolling.”
