The Kansas City Chiefs already have an eye on the three-peat but are still enjoying their back-to-back Super Bowl triumph against the San Francisco 49ers.
Last Thursday (13), the Chiefs once again celebrated their second consecutive NFL title with the unveiling of the Super Bowl LVIII championship ring during a presentation ceremony for the team’s players, coaches and staff.
A total of 400 pieces of jewellery were made with 529 diamonds, 38 rubies and 14.8 carats of precious stones each, according to manufacturer Jostens.
The event followed on from the franchise’s celebrations, which already included a parade and a visit to US President Joe Biden at the White House.

The details of KC’s championship ring
As well as four trophies referencing Kansas City’s four SBs and references to details of the game, the ring is inscribed with the words “Tom and Jerry”, the name of the play used by the team to clinch a 25-22 overtime victory against the 49ers.
Quarterback Patrick Mahomes’ three-yard throw to Mecole Hardman was represented by Andy Reid’s handwriting.
A engraving error was found on the inside of the ring
On the inside of the adornment, which commemorates the franchise’s title in Super Bowl LVIII, are engraved the scores of each of the Chiefs’ victories in the post-season, including the ranking of each opponent.
In the ring, the Miami Dolphins appear as the seventh-ranked team, when in reality they were the sixth-ranked AFC playoff team.
Travis Kelce’s reaction to finding out about the mistake
Following the delivery of the champions’ new ‘accessory’, Travis Kelce recorded another episode of his New Heights podcast in the company of his brother.
On the show, Jason Kelce drew his brother’s attention to the “big mistake” and asked him if he had any plans to fix the engraving on the ring.
With his manner already known throughout Chiefs Kingdom, Kelce responded promptly: “I don’t give a f*.”
“No, I like it that we didn’t give a f* about what seed Miami was,” added. “Who cares? They could have done no seeds on the side of them and I would’ve been fine. Like oh, yeah, we made it really detailed and oops, we screwed up. Just makes it more exclusive. We screwed up about something that means nothing.”
As long as KC is at the top, Travis doesn’t care about ring-making failures, let alone being from a team he’s not even part of.
