Crucial decisions which will have a huge impact on the course on the 2024 season are being made behind the scenes as we speak – the Chiefs are under the spotlight.

In the aftermath of their Super Bowl LVIII triumph, the Kansas City Chiefs are pressured to workout out the best solution for the franchise as they eye up a three-peat.

L’Jarius Sneed latest

Chris Jones contract continued to dominate the headlines up until yesterday.

Recent developments on Chief’s star cornerback L’Jarius Sneed surfaced in the evening.

Multiple NFL sources claimed the Chiefs are potentially willing to use the franchise tag on the two-time Super Bowl champion.

NFL staff writer, Matt Verderame, stated that multiple sources have informed me on this possible franchise tag development. Verderame also claimed the Chiefs are “75-80 percent” sure that they will pursue this idea.

Verderame reassured that this was not the final decision, but it is setting the wheels in motion.

Jeremy Fowler of ESPN provided more insight yesterday into the intentions of the Kansas City Chiefs.

According to Fowler, the Chiefs have informed L’Jarius Sneed they are prepared to use the franchise tag and are open to consummate a trade if no long-term deal is reached.

Sneed has agreed to this motion, which gives him a chance to now talk with other teams.

Nonetheless, Tony Pauline, an NFL data analyst, has shared information about potential suitors for the Louisiana native.

Sneed in demand

According to his sources, the Atlanta Falcons and the Denver Broncos are “hot on the trail for Sneed”, so do not be surprised if concrete talks emerge between the various parties in the coming days and weeks.

The NFL data analyst said that multiple Philadelphia Eagles players have been in contact with Sneed to lure him to Boston.

The team from Philly had a disappointing season last year and with a defense which is in desperate need of a shake-up, could Sneed be their man.

If the Chiefs follow through with the franchise tag scenario, this will give the reigning world champions insurance of receiving a lucrative deal if a trade occurred.

First and foremost, the Chiefs boardroom will need to crunch the numbers to see if a new deal would be a viable option. Chris Jones also hoping to get a new deal can make proceedings tricky.

‘Keep all the good guys’

Andy Reid was asked at the NFL Combine on the developing situation with the two-star defensive players and he wants to keep them both: “You want to keep all the good guys.

“It is virtually impossible to keep them all… we will give it our best shot as we want the guys to be there.

“If it fits the bill, let’s move on and win a couple of games here.”

So, ‘Big Red’ wants to keep Sneed and Jones, will the former be in Arrowhead come the opening day of the season or does fate have somewhere else in store?
