The Kansas City Chiefs have reached the final conclusion of their offseason training program and now all must be present for their mandatory minicamp.

Summer break is nearly upon the Kansas City Chiefs and now they turn to the mandatory three-day minicamp scheduled to start on June 11.

OTAs, despite being padless, are essentially the preseason of the preseason.

The OTAs are the first chance for players to fight for their roster spots before the summer

Veterans and rookies on both sides of the ball have a crucial period to develop early chemistry.

Moreover, the coaching staff will be eagerly watching to see which players are making excellent first impressions and which areas still need focused improvement.

Veterans like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, Chris Jones, plus many more will already know that their place is guaranteed on the final 53-man roster.

However, for various players, their positions are delicate and they will battle with teammates for their precious spot.

The OTAs serve as a perfect time to demonstrate their skills and make their first strides toward making the cut after training camp.

Chiefs highlight one player that has been a standout in training

One player who will be desperate to go one step further in 2024 will be wide receiver Nikko Remigio.

Remigio was an undrafted free agent out of Fresno State but proved to be a unique talent in 2023 preseason training.

The 24-year-old made the cut for the 2023 roster but suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.

Ultimately, the Chiefs placed Remigio on the injured reserve list on August 29 2023 but he was a Super Bowl champion.

Nonetheless, the talented receiver wants to bounce back from his disruptive injury and play a role in their 2024 three-peat campaign.

Remigio has shown no signs of his shoulder injury disturbing his production and has been a hit during the OTAs.

Nikko Remigio is a ‘played to watch’ as preseason draws closer

On the Kansas City Chiefs’ official X account, the media claimed that the two standout performers were himself and free agent Marquise Brown.

“Another player who stood out is a guy you might remember from last year’s training camp, Nikko Remigio. He was flashing, really had an opportunity to make this team last year out of training camp but a shoulder injury ended his season,” the Chiefs expert on X explained.

“But now healthy, he’s picked up right where he left off. He’s looked great throughout OTAs. Long way to go, he’s got to prove it with the pads on, but he’s certainly a player to watch as well.”

The Kansas City Chiefs have made improving their wide receiver core their number-one offseason priority.

Free agent addition Marquise Brown and rookie Xavier Worthy will add a vertical deep threat to Patrick Mahomes’ passing game.

Moreover, the Chiefs resigned Mecole Hardman to a one-year deal with talks of the ‘Legion of Zoom’ returning.

Despite an off-field investigation, Rashee Rice will be looking to improve on his record-breaking rookie campaign.

In addition, Kadarius Toney and Skyy Moore should be eager to earn a more predominant role on offense.

The Chiefs are loaded at the wide receiver position, but Remigio has made his first positive steps back from injury.
