Whether you like it or not, Taylor Swift is going to be associated with the NFL for the foreseeable future as long as Travis Kelce and the US popstar remain in a relationship.
The singer-songwriter has been in a relationship with nine-time Pro Bowler Travis Kelce since last September.
Taylor Swift is arguably the most popular singer in the world right now, with Spotify announcing that fans listened to her songs 26.1 billion times in December 2023.
This has brought a wave of attention to the Kansas City Chiefs and tight-end Kelce.

Taylor’s social media impact
From the point it was confirmed that the two stars were in a relationship, this brought a whole new wave of fans for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Evidently, the singer’s influence was notable through the 2.9 million followers increase for the Chiefs varying social media accounts.
All four main platforms of social media saw a dramatic rise in their follower count, Instagram, X, TikTok and Threads.
While head coach Andy Reid was at the NFL Combine in Indianapolis, he sat down with Mike Florio and Chris Sims on the Pro Football Talk podcast to discuss all things Chiefs.
Most of the conversation centered around the dramatic Super Bowl LVIII success and Mahomes’ endless talent.
Sims touched upon the subject of the Taylor Swift fan base, ‘Swifties’, and asked how Reid felt about the extra attention: “I really didn’t worry about it.
“I knew her [Taylor Swift] mum and dad and they’re good solid people. I’ve met her when she was young and she is so grounded for who she is.
“I mentioned somewhere, since the Queen [Elizabeth II] has passed away, she might be the most famous woman on earth.”
A bold statement by Andy Reid, but he might be right.
The NFL loves Taylor Swift
The influence Taylor Swift has brought has been impactful for the Chiefs and the NFL as a whole.
NFL Commissioner, Roger Goodell, recently praised Swift’s ‘wonderful’ effect on the viewing figures across the league.
Goodell believes the Grammy award winner has created a new younger generation of football fans, especially young women.
Taylor Swift’s presence has helped the NFL as a marketing brand, with record viewership and advertising spend, with companies looking to reach the sport’s new fans.
