Following the shocking news of the shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs victory parade, the team’s most prominent celebrity fan is lending her support.

Taylor Swift has donated $100,000 to the family of Elizabeth Lopez-Galvan, the woman who lost her life in the tragedy.

The multiple Grammy Award winner’s two contributions of $50,000 were posted to the GoFundMe memorial page.

In a post, Swift said, “Sending my deepest sympathies and condolences in the wake of your devastating loss. With love, Taylor Swift.”

The fundraising page aimed to raise $75,000 to benefit the victim’s family, and the woman who set it all up thanked Swift for the contribution.

“I just woke up, and this is the first thing I see… never in a million years would I have thought something like this would directly affect my family so personally,” she wrote on X. “the world truly doesn’t deserve you. thank you SO much for thinking of kc’s community, I love you @taylorswift13.”

Lopez-Galvan was a mother of two and a local radio DJ.

What is the latest on the investigation?

Kansas City Police held a press conference on Thursday, sharing updates about the ongoing investigation.

They say there are two juveniles currently in custody while a third has been released as it’s been determined that that person had nothing to do with the tragedy.

The two teenagers arrested have been charged in family court as juveniles in the case with firearms violations and resisting arrest.

Police added that they are seeking two other individuals who might be involved.

Authorities said that “the relationship between the subjects involved is still under investigation”.

Police say that the shooting stemmed from a quarrel among several people incidental to the event.

How the Chief players reacted

As you might imagine, following such a tragedy, there’s been overwhelming support from Chiefs players.

As we mentioned in a previous article Mahomes wrote on X “Praying for Kansas City”.

His teammate Travis Kelce also went on X, saying, “I am heartbroken over the tragedy that took place today. My heart is with all who came out to celebrate with us and have been affected. KC, you mean the world to me.”

How the Chiefs are helping out

The Kansas City Chiefs are doing their part to try and help the victim’s family following this unimaginable tragedy.

Teaming up with the United Way of Greater Kansas City, the Chiefs are also putting together their own fundraiser.

The team, the NFL and the Hunt Family Foundation kicked off the donations with a combined amount of $200,000.

On the Instagram page of Travis Kelce’s podcast “New Heights,” the Chiefs’ tight end shared that fundraising venture.

There were 21 people injured in the shooting, with more than half under the age of 16.

Many reportedly are dealing with life-threatening injuries.
