Executives Stephen and Jerry Jones, alongside Mike McCarthy, faced a bombardment of questions about the Dallas Cowboys offseason handlings.
Yesterday, the media were given another shot at the Cowboys front office as they faced their routine pre-draft presser.
At The Star in Frisco, key figures were forced to explain why their offseason has unraveled in the way it has.
Moreover, Dak Prescott’s contract was a hot topic of conversation for the father-and-son partnership.
Dak Prescott makes his contract view clear and shows he has all the leverage
Their signal-caller was transparent at the Children’s Cancer Fund that he was willing to let the situation play out.
In addition, he stated that he is not necessarily looking to become the highest-paid quarterback in the league.
Prescott spoke like a man exercising his leverage and did not rule out the chance of leaving Dallas in free agency.
The 30-year-old can happily test the open market in 2025 and other teams will be happy to pay top-dollar.

Stephen Jones defends the Cowboys’ lack of progression with extensions
NFL Network reporter and Cowboys Insider Jane Slater was present at the Jones’ presser.
She questioned why the Cowboys have not been proactive in their contract extensions and why they are waiting for the market to become more expensive.
In response, Stephen Jones stated: “As we know representatives talk to each other, you don’t think the representatives of [Justin] Jefferson, CeeDee [Lamb], and [Ja’Marr] Chase aren’t talking to each other.
“You don’t think they got their eye on something really big, please. They are not ready to come in here, same thing with Micah [Parsons] and same thing with Dak [Prescott].”
Key player representatives are hindering the negotiation process
Vice President Stephen Jones implied that the agents of key players around the league are speaking to one another to leverage the highest price.
Furthermore, the son of Jerry Jones wants the media to realize that the representatives have not approached them yet.
Per the Cowboys front office, they are sitting at the negotiation table but they have not been met by the players.
This game of ‘cat and mouse’ could go on for months with parties skeptical of making the first move.
America’s Team will be focused on addressing the NFL Draft and then will be open for discussions about extensions.
Fans are disillusioned by the waiting game and are fed up with the front office not having a proactive stance on these matters.
