Penn State edge rusher Chop Robinson was very complimentary of current Cowboys star Micah Parsons in his recent NFL Combine podium interview.

Chop Robinson is one of the eager draft prospects in 2024 who is looking to land at a franchise and take the league by storm just like Parsons managed to.

Parsons’ domination

According to Robinson’s NFL Combine profile, he has been given the same characteristics as his fellow Penn State graduate Parsons.

In Parsons three seasons as a Dallas Cowboy, he has dominated offensive lines across The States.

He has earned himself Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2021, a Pro Bowl appearance in every season, two First-Team All-Pro selections (2021 and 2022) and a Second-Team All-Pro selection last season.

The 24-year-old has an outstanding pedigree in his novice age and has not even reached his sporting prime, makes you think, a defensive Hall of Famer in the making?

Robinson will certainly want to follow in Parsons’ footsteps, even if that is at another franchise.

The soon-to-be rookie has already turned most heads with his blistering 40-yard dash time of 4.48 – impressive for a defensive lineman.

‘He’s relentless’

Robinson in his interview made it clear he has taken inspiration from Micah Parsons: “I’ve been watching Micah since I was in high school.

“He also played at Penn State. See how hard he plays, he’s very relentless, very consistent in everything he does so I just try to play my game after him.”

The three-time Pro Bowler may have a young protégé joining him in the NFL.

Dan Quinn recently departed the Cowboys for the Washington Commanders to fulfill their head coach vacancy.

He now has a rare shot at being a head coach once again, after being dismissed by the Atlanta Falcons back in 2020.

The 53-year-old was part of the Cowboys franchise as DC for three seasons and helped build a robust unit.

In his three-season tenure, the Cowboys led the lead in takeaways (93), interceptions (59), defensive touchdowns (15) and quarterback pressure rate (41.4%).

‘Super proud of him’

Quinn and Parsons worked together in this time and the former described the latter as ‘unique’.

The now Commanders’ HC could not hold back his pleasure to have been a mentor to Parsons: “One of the fun parts about Micah is he pushed me to think differently.

“I think he was the most rare [talent] that I was able to find.

“I’m super proud of him, the trajectory that he’s on and I think he’s going to continue on in that way.”

Parsons has been flattered with praise by an upcoming rookie and a former coach, and he is undoubtedly one of the best talents within the game.

Pennsylvanian born and bred, Parsons is the spine of the Cowboys defense and is thirsty to taste that first Super Bowl success – which is well over due.
