Despite Patrick Mahomes always striving for silverware in the NFL, ‘Bronze’ is much more precious to the three-time Super Bowl champion.
The Kansas City Chiefs star boy and his wife Brittany welcomed a newborn son into the world back in 2022. Mahomes and his partner continued the husband’s legacy and decided on the name Patrick Lavon Mahomes III for their precious child.
A separate identity
However, having the same name as your father can often be quite confusing for you and especially other people. So the Chiefs signal caller was searching for a separate alias for his new son from the moment he was born.
Patrick Mahomes sought some creativity from his brother Jackson, with his sibling delivering a nickname which would stick.
Back in 2021, the Mahomes family welcomed their first child, a girl who they named Sterling Skye after her birth in February 2021. 20 months later she gained a new sibling as she was fast approaching the tender age of two.
Skye’s unique name was crucial to finding her brother’s new term of endearment.
Jackson Mahomes decided it would be appropriate to give his brother’s new child the name of ‘Bronze’ – an instant hit. The Chiefs quarterback, who would be celebrating another Super Bowl victory in a few months, was instantly hooked on the name.
With bronze and sterling being very valuable tender, these were perfect names to highlight the invaluable nature of his children for Mahomes.
For the newly christened Bronze, his father was adamant about the importance of possessing his own sperate identity:
‘It works out well… he can have his own thing now where he’s not Patrick, he’s Bronze, even though he’s Patrick.’

Sibling bonds
Sibling bonds are extremely important, as by having unique names which are closely related, Mahomes hopes this will be the start of theirs:
‘Sterling and Bronze can have a connection moving forward’.
The Super Bowl LVIII MVP and his partner Brittany, will be excited for the next steps of parenthood, as the former will have to be balancing life whilst be the star face of the NFL.
