Teammates on the field, Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce also have a fun and genuine friendship off it.
Kelce was already part of the Kansas City Chiefs squad five years before Mahomes joined the league.
The connection between the two players was quick and today they are one Super Bowl away from tying Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski as the winningest QB-TE duo in history. The Chiefs pair is currently behind the former New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who won four titles together.

How far Mahomes and Kelce’s friendship has come
After many years together, KC’s legendary partnership has gone beyond just the two of them. Today, they are united by a large group of friends.
For the IMPAULSIVE podcast, Mahomes shared his feelings about his relationship and synergy with Kelce.
“I think our friendship kind of built naturally. He’s kind of, like me. He’s friends with all the boys he grew up with. I am friends with all the boys I grew up with, and we’ve all become just one big friend group. I mean I go on golf trips with some of his buddies without Travis there.”
Travis Kelce’s version that not many people know about
Kelce’s fame doesn’t seem to match up 100 per cent with the person he really is. Pat Mahomes said that he gives off a personality to outsiders that differs from what he actually is.
“I think ya’ll met him, but he just does a great job of working it and getting himself open. He understands. He’s smart. He puts on this persona of “I’m partying, I’m drinking” but he’s really super intelligent.”
He also used the teammate’s behaviour during games as an example: “When he gets on the football field and he gets open I just know where he’s going to be at the same time.”
Mahomes joked about not being able to keep up with Kelce when he decides to party hard: “No, I cannot [keep up with him]. I think I used to and then I had kids.”
The tight end’s contract extension with the Chiefs promises to give the pair an extra boost in their quest for another Super Bowl.
