The Chiefs QB and his partner have announced a new commitment to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of America through their 15 and the Mahomies Foundation. As part of the pledge, Mahomes will be donating $1,500 for every one of his regular season touchdowns.

It’s been an iffy start to the Chiefs Super Bowl defense through the first four games of the season. Kansas are 3-1 and first in the AFC West, but there’s clearly concerns on the offensive side of the football. Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes has thrown eight touchdowns so far, but is 21st in completion percentage (64.3%) and tied for second in interceptions (4).

However, away from the field, his production remains as elite as ever, as his foundation is pledging a huge commitment to the Boys & Girls Clubs of America.

Patrick and his wife Brittany, through the 15 and the Mahomies Foundation, announced they’re making a $1.625 million contribution and a multi-year commitment to support the Boys & Girls Clubs of America. Furthermore, Mahomes and his foundation will be donating $1,500 for every one of the quarterback’s touchdowns during the regular season.

The cities to benefit are Greater Kansas City, and three cities in Texas (Lubbock, Tyler and Whitehouse), three cities who have had a big impact on Patrick and Brittany’s lives.

“We are truly excited to partner with Boys & Girls Clubs of America by investing in the future of children,” Mahomes said in the press release. “Kids who attend a Club, like Brittany once did, are provided with the necessary tools and resources to help this generation not only thrive but lead with compassion and purpose.”

Mahomes takes accountability for Chiefs passing game issues

It comes after Mahomes recently spoke about the Chiefs passing game issues. The wide receiver group has been problematic all season long, but last season’s NFL MVP thinks it’s down to him to be better.

“If I start playing better, everybody will start playing better,” he said.

Mahomes threw two interceptions against the Jets in Week 4 in a narrow 23-20 win.

“I missed some opportunities throughout the game, and so I’ve just got to put us in better positions and [start] making better decisions so that the guys can go out there and work for me and make plays down the field,” he said.
