Now that the Cowboys and Dak Prescott are on the same page about his contract, it’s time to focus on signing other players.
The Dallas Cowboys have put a semicolon on Dak Prescott’s deal – he’s not extending with the team, at least for a while. Since Jerry Jones made a statement saying that he is confident about his quarterback’s performance and also the offseason moves, the fans don’t look satisfied about either of those things and are already processing the ideia that the franchise QB could become a free-agent in 2025.
There is a difference in the tone of the speech given by the Dallas owner in recent days. Before, his approach was more optimistic, but now it seems that Jones is coming to terms with the team’s situation. He has switched from ‘All-in’ to ‘Win with less’.
America’s Team is sticking to their traditional plan, which everyone is used to: staying away from external additions, re-signing players who are already in the roster and developing their Draft picks.
Keeping that in mind, the Cowboys still have unfinished business with Micah Parsons and Cee Dee Lamb. Both of the stars are waiting for major deals.

Who has the biggest impact on the Cowboys squad
NFL reporter Jori Epstein, on Tuesday’s edition of Yahoo Fantasy Football Show, analyzed the contracts scenario and gave her thoughts on who Dallas should negotiate a extension with as soon as possible.
In her opinion, Lamb is the player in the team who deserves a renewal the most. According to Epstein, the numbers speak for themselves: he was number one in receptions last year, top three in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns.
“He’s reliable, he’s a great locker room guy, he’s been great with Dak, he’s been great with quarterbacks in college. He is someone you need to lock up.”
“To me you get Cee Dee Lamb done this offseason.”
She also mentioned an important factor that should alert the Cowboys to speed up the extension.
“The only thing you gain by waiting is that you’re gonna pay him more.”
Jori Epstein even shared the details of a conversation she had with an NFL defensive coach about the young Dallas pass rusher.
“I was talking to a defensive coach from another team about this (Micah Parsons) and I’m just trying to understand because like: in one hand, we see Micah’s sack numbers, we see what he can do.”
“But it’s like…think about the biggest games that they have, the games against San Francisco, the playoff games. What did Micah do in those games?”
“One coach tell me: ‘when the Cowboys are winning, Micah is a Hall Of Fame player. When the Cowboys need him most he’s pretty average’.”
Parsons, in his three seasons in the league (including playoffs), has 93 QB hits, 41.5 sacks and one fumble recovery resulting in a touchdown.
