Though Dallas have finally made a move in free agency, the range of running back options for the team is getting tighter by the day.
Not bad for a first signing of an external free-agent. The Dallas Cowboys signed linebacker Erick Kendricks for one year. The LB may have something to add to the roster, largely because he’s worked with defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer and is familiar with his approach to the game.
Tempers may have calmed down a bit, but Dallas still has a lot to worry about, especially at the running back position.
Letting Derrick Henry slip through the cracks has been a disappointment, even more so under the details of the contract he signed with the Ravens.
Considering the space on the team’s salary cap – $8.8 million according to Sportrac -, not going after Henry was at least a little odd.
Hard to get over losing Derrick Henry
On Thursday’s edition of Undisputed, Michael Irvin shared his opinion on the latest news involving the Dallas Cowboys. Unsurprisingly, his position is related to the organization’s non-investment in ‘The King’.
“I was disappointed because what I said prior to all of this free agency stuff is ‘last season with the way that season ended, that I was going to need some kind of hope if he still kept Mike McCarthy’. So now give me some hope. Derrick Henry was that hope.”

However upset he is, Irvin has accepted the situation, but remains hopeful about the America’s Team.
“I’m disappointed. But I’m not destroyed. I’m not devastated. You know what I mean? This to me
doesn’t stop the Dallas Cowboys from having a chance at winning the NFC East.”
“I would have loved to have Derrick Henry on the Dallas Cowboys, I would have loved to have that hammer.”
