Micah Parsons has said the Cowboys will take a lot of confidence from their defeat to the Eagles, while also defending Dak Prescott amid criticism.
The Dallas Cowboys had a chance to prove they’re Super Bowl contenders in Week 9 against the Eagles in Philadelphia. The last time they come up against one of the big boys they were demolished by the 49ers. While the result was the same against the Eagles, there were certainly more positives to take away from the game.

Micah Parsons is taking confidence from Eagles defeat
The Cowboys were certainly more in the game vs the Eagles than they ever were against the 49ers. They actually held a 17-14 lead at halftime and outgained the Eagles in total offensive yards 406 to 292.
It was a game of fine margins and the Cowboys were inches away from causing an upset. Rookie tight end Luke Schoonmaker would have added six points in the second half but he was deemed to be half a yard short of the goal life after not running his route into the end zone.
Then, after scoring a touchdown, Dak stepped out of bounds on a two-point conversion that left the team trailing by five instead of three.
Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons, who had nine tackles and 1.5 sacks in the loss, knows the team was good enough to win the game and is taking the positives from it.
“We know we played good enough to win that game,” Parsons said, via Jon Machota of The Athletic. “But we didn’t. That’s just how the dice rolls sometimes. Sometimes you play good enough and good enough isn’t good enough. That’s just the reality of the game. I feel like we have even more confidence now. I feel like everybody had us out and everyone was praising this Eagles team. Obviously, we gave them their best fit. I’m not even going to spit fuel on the fire. We’ll see them again in four weeks.”
Parsons defends Dak – “he’s a warrior”
Many of Dak’s critics singled him out for failing to convert the two-point attempt late in the game.
However, Dak had a huge game against Philly and was one of – it not the – biggest factor in the game being so close. He completed 29-of-44 passes for 374 yards and three touchdowns, and outplayed Eagles QB Jalen Hurts.
After the game, Parsons defended his QB, calling him a “warrior”.
“Dak is a freaking warrior. That’s Dak mother******* Prescott, bro. He’s a dog. He’s a warrior. I have an unbelievable amount of confidence in him. I felt he had a great game. People need to put more respect on him. He outplayed everyone today,” Parsons said, via Jon Machota on Twitter.
The Cowboys slip to 5-3 for the season with a game against the Giants at the weekend. They’ll also see the Eagles again this season when they face each other in Texas on December 10.
