The Kansas City Chiefs have gone through the voluntary OTAS phase and now it’s time for the mandatory minicamp.
There will be three days of training in a row.
After that, official preseason training began on 23 July and runs until 17 August. However, the rookies have to reacquaint themselves with the team on 18 July, while the veterans do so a day before the start date.
Preseason camp is scheduled to take place at Missouri Western State University.
Kansas City’s preseason games begin on 10 August against the Jacksonville Jaguars. A week later, they face the Detroit Lions – the Chicago Bears are the last opponent before the kickoff.

Rookie expected to sit out entire mandatory minicamp
Xavier Worthy was unexpectedly drafted by KC in the first round and was tipped to leave in the second.
Expectations are high for the kid after he broke the 40-yard dash record at the Combine and impressed everyone with his speed and athleticism.
The receiver hasn’t trained with the team for 22 days because of a hamstring injury. That means he’s missed the vast majority of OTAs.
Fox 4 Kansas City reporter PJ Green saw Worthy present at the mandatory training session: he was left out while other players did individual work and warm-ups.
The fact that he wasn’t wearing a helmet either indicates that he wasn’t in fact able to practice.
Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes don’t see Worthy’s injury as a threat to the season
Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes don’t seem too concerned about the nature of the rookie’s injury.
The head coach described the injury as a ‘tweak’. The quarterback, on the other hand, talked about how NFL Combine training can sometimes lead to ‘soft tissue injuries’ for players.
It’s likely that by the preseason games the pass-catcher will already be available to play.
