There is a lot of talk about who the Kansas City Chiefs should re-sign on defense this off-season. But what if they switch priorities and go with offense?
Kansas City have been urged to shift focus and enter the battle to sign Mike Evans, if the star wide receiver becomes available.
Mike Evans won the Super Bowl with Tampa Bay and Tom Brady, against the Chiefs in 2021.
Even without Brady, Evans continues to put up big numbers. This past season he managed 13 touchdowns in the regular season.
Now he is entering Free Agency, and while Tampa Bay are expected to try and re-sign him, there are no certainties in the NFL at this time of year.

Kansas City should sign Mike Evans
The Kansas City Chiefs have been named as the number one alternative option for Mike Evans.
NFL Insider Jeff Darlington told ESPN he believes Evans would be a ‘game changer’ for Kansas City.
He explained: “If the Bucs can’t lock him up, and he does commit to moving elsewhere, the Kansas City Chiefs should absolutely be pursuing Mike Evans.
“I understand the dynasty that is the Chiefs, how they can move the ball, but we should not forget the middle of the season, the number of drops the Chiefs faced, I don’t know if it is sustainable to do what they did in this post-season, they have got to go and get weapons, and Mike Evans should absolutely be at the top of their list.
“It would be a game changer for Patrick Mahomes.”
Evans over Chris Jones claim
Asked if Kansas City could possibly afford to sign Evans and retain star linebacker Chris Jones, Darlington said the wide receiver should be a priority
“I would rather Mike Evans than Chris Jones. This is a team that redefine themselves from one year to the next.”
There is no argument that Mahomes had to do a lot with little, this past season, and turned a tough situation into a Super Bowl season.
Darlington is right that it is not sustainable to return with the same wide receiver group, but whether any signing is worth sacrificing Jones for, is another matter entirely.
