Dynasties in professional sports these days are a dime a dozen, especially in the NFL.
On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs can do something no NFL team has done since the 2004 New England Patriots, repeat as Super Bowl champions.
Doing that is quite an achievement, but for KC to even get to this point once again is something we’ve rarely seen teams in this league do.

From 2014-18, New England boasted a winning record of .775, scoring 28.2 points per game, the most in the NFL.
KC have a .759-win percentage from 2019-23, and are second in points-per-game (27.4).
What teams have made it to consecutive Super Bowls?
In the history of the Super Bowl, teams have had numerous opportunities to repeat as Super Bowl champions.
However only eight of them successfully defended their title.
The Chiefs had a chance to do that during the 2020 campaign but were beaten by Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
While the last three teams with a chance to repeat as champions failed, the previous two clubs to win back-to-back came out of the AFC, the Pats in 2003 and 04, and the Denver Broncos in 1997 and 98.

If the Chiefs can win a third Super Bowl since 2019, Andy Reid and Mahomes would join some exclusive company.
