Micah Parsons has been one of the most dominant defensive linemen in the National Football League since his emergence in 2021.

The 24-year-old has been the heartbeat of the Cowboys’ defense since using their first pick of the 2021 draft on him.

In his first three seasons, he has achieved three Pro Bowl appearances, alongside two First-Team All-Pro selections.

Parsons’ contract tagged as a defensive end

In his debut year, he was a class above the defensive class and rightfully won NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year.

The Dallas Cowboys have picked up the fifth-year extension in his rookie contract this offseason.

However, instead of registering him as a linebacker, the Cowboys front office has picked up the extension as defensive end.

As a result, this has saved the Cowboys $2.68 million on the books.

Nevertheless, Parsons is going to be hunting a mega contract shortly.

He joins the big-name cohort of CeeDee Lamb and Dak Prescott who are also looking for a massive payday.

Parsons seems set on staying as a Dallas Cowboy and has played at the top of his game since his debut.

The linebacker has received praise from multiple figures across the NFL, recently Dan Quinn and draft prospect Chop Robinson.

‘Taken another step’

Additionally, the Eagles’ future Hall of Famer Jason Kelce waxed lyrical about the linebacker on his podcast.

Kelce has recently announced his retirement after 13 seasons in the league.

Therefore, at center, he has played against some of the best pass rushers in the business.

Kelce asked Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata on the New Heights Podcast who the hardest person they have had to block is.

Jordan Mailata responded: “I would have to say Micah”

Kelce then supported the statement, saying: “I think he has taken another step this year.”

Evidently, the Eagles’ O-Linemen have had their fair share of problems trying to block Parsons.

With the Eagles and Cowboys being NFC East rivals, they face each other a minimum of two times a year.

Now retired, Kelce no longer has to be on the line whilst defending Parsons.
