Despite several setbacks in 2023, the Kansas City Chiefs ended the season victorious and, above all, motivated to reach a historic milestone.
After last year, if anyone still doubted the team’s ability, they changed their minds.
Injuries, the NFL’s highest drop rate and a weakened receiving corps all impacted KC’s campaign.
Patrick Mahomes, in particular, is entering a decisive season that could raise his bar – even higher than it already is.

Last phase of the offseason… The training camp
This Friday, the entire squad will come together to start training camp, which will include 19 sessions.
Rookies have already presented themselves to the Chiefs and the veterans will show their faces by the end of the week.
The players’ holidays are over and now it’s full focus on the season ahead.
Pat Mahomes has been at the Missouri Western State campus since Tuesday.
Considering the impossible mission they are about to embark on, this and next month will be all about correcting last year’s mistakes and trying new things given the young and fast players who have arrived.
Patrick Mahomes is very down to earth about KC’s performance last season
Now entering his eighth season and with three titles under his belt, Mahomes is looking more and more mature and keen to play American football. The motivation behind this year helps, of course.
During the offseason, the organisation dedicated itself to bringing in the best possible to surround the quarterback.
The QB spoke to the media about his main incentive for training camp. And in the most honest way possible.
“We’re back in St. Joe’s, it’s time to get better… Even though we won the Super Bowl last year we didn’t play our best football.”
Mahomes has indeed felt the team’s disappointments over the last season and has predicted that things won’t be like this in 2024.
“Obviously, the end result was awesome, but I think a lot of us still have a weird feeling because we really didn’t play football the way we wanted to play all year long,”, said about the offense. “It wasn’t fun – every single week having to try to continue to get better and the results not paying off the way you wanted to. We have a lot of those same guys back and they know how they felt.”
Pat even announced a few days ago that he and his wife Brittany are expecting their third child. The signal-caller made a dubious comment, which may hint at three-peat as well: “I’m done. I’ll say that. I said three and I’m done.”
Knowing Mahomes and how competitive he is, three titles won’t be enough. He’s going for more.
