The Las Vegas Raiders have not backed away from stating their true intention and game plan towards Patrick Mahomes during the offseason.
On Christmas Day last year, the Raiders handed the Chiefs a brutal loss at Arrowhead Stadium 20-14.
The Las Vegas team dominated the Kansas City Chiefs offensive line and made their star quarterback very uncomfortable.
The Raiders ran riot
Malcolm Koonce managed to record three sacks on Mahomes and Adam Butler registered another.
In addition to the brutal blows, the two-time MVP threw one interception – a bad day at the office.
The Raiders did the damage in the first half and a resilient defense managed to fend off a later resurgence in the fourth quarter.

As much as the Raiders thought they had cracked the plan for Mahomes and rained on their parade.
The pictures of Max Crosby and fellow teammates smoking cigars were just the motivation the Chiefs needed.
Their loss to the Raiders marked the beginning of an unbeaten run to and through the playoffs.
A winning streak that rode the wave to the Super Bowl where they beat the San Francisco 49ers.
So, the Raiders victory was the encouragement the Chiefs needed.
‘The Recipe’
In the NFL offseason, Raiders head coach Antonio Pierce participated in defensive edge rusher Maxx Crosby’s podcast.
Pierce claimed to have given the ‘recipe’ to the entire league on how to beat Patrick Mahomes and stop the Chiefs machine.
The recipe was dubbed ‘The Mahomes Rule’.
A specific game plan designed to target the master of the offense.
Maxx Crosby told Vegas Sports Today was asked about the rule, and wanted to make very clear that he does not want Mahomes to get hurt.
He explained: “People have their own thoughts and take things out of context… but if we wanna win we got to take him (Mahomes) down.”
“He knows every time I play him and every time I see him I want to ruin his day.
“It’s not malicious or whatever, and people saying we want to purposely injure that is a bunch of BS.
“We play the game the right way, we play with ill-intent, we play violent and we play fast.”
The three-time Pro Bowler was adamant that they try not to injure Mahomes but proceeded to say they play with ‘ill-intent’.
A tasty affair next year
Both being AFC West division rivals they are guaranteed to meet on two occasions next season.
Can the Raiders and Crosby back up their talk and show that their ‘recipe’ works again? Or could the Chiefs nullify their blueprint and sweep the Raiders once more?
