How Amari Cooper reacted when fake quote spread around in 2021 regarding Dak Prescott

The Dallas Cowboys just like any franchise have to balance the personalities of players on their books but they also must be weary of the toxicity that social media can stir up.

America’s Team was handed a traditional early playoff exit in 2021 at the hands of the San Francisco 49ers in the Wildcard Round.

Moreover, this was the first playoff exit in the Mike McCarthy era and signified another disappointing postseason for Dak Prescott.

A fake story about Prescott being annoyed by Amari Cooper’s comments surfaces

The franchise’s continued exile from the NFC Championship sparked heightened emotions and the signal-caller was supposedly left infuriated from a comment made by Amari Cooper.

As explained by the Fort-Worth Star, the Cowboys’ wide receiver had reportedly called Prescott ‘the black Kirk Cousins’ which was completely false.

Additionally, the fake report stated that Prescott was left frustrated by the remark.

The report quickly made the round on social media and the fake story was a propaganda tactic implemented by the Anti-Prescott regime.

Furthermore, the comments were used as a tool to highlight how Prescott is similar to the then-Minnesota Vikings-now-Atlanta QB Kirk Cousins’ inability to deliver in the postseason.

Cousins, like Prescott, is considered to be in the top echelon of signal-callers and is paid respectively, despite their lack of playoff success.

Cowboys reporter says Cooper and Prescott both knew it to be untrue

Per Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram, Amari Cooper spoke about the bizarre fake report that tried to drive a wedge in between the two players.

The Cowboys beat writer said Cooper could only ‘laugh it off’ when the completely untrue story broke.

In addition, the reporter mentioned how the receiver did not bring it up with the quarterback because they both knew it was disingenuous.

The Cowboys sought the services of Cooper back in 2018 from the Raiders

The Dallas Cowboys traded for Cooper in 2018 for a first-round pick and helped revive his career off the now-Las Vegas Raiders roster.

In Cooper’s three full seasons on the Cowboys roster, he punched above 1,000 yards and recorded 21 total touchdowns.

Jerry Jones penned Cooper down to a five-year extension in the 2020 offseason, which was valued at up to $100 million.

Two years later, he was traded to the Cleveland Browns for a fifth-round pick, with the emergence of CeeDee Lamb and the front office banking on Michael Gallup to develop.
