Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce was spotted in conversation with legendary head coach Bill Belichick after the Week 15 game.

The Chiefs won 27-17 against Belichick’s New England Patriots, snapping a two game losing streak to get back in the W column in Foxborough.

The Patriots are enduring a difficult season, with only three wins. It is their worst record under coach Belichick.

This has prompted lots of speculation in New England over whether this will be Belchick’s final season there as head coach.

Travis Kelce explains Belichick chat

Travis Kelce was spotted in a personal conversation with Belichick once the game concluded.

Kelce explained he wanted to pay tribute to Belichick, and his decision to seek out the coach had nothing to do with his possible exit from New England in the off-season.

Kelce told his podcast: “I just mentioned how much I respect him and how its always the biggest challenge I go up against in the National Football League, is going up against one of his defenses.

“I just wanted to make sure he heard that from my mouth man, it’s been a pleasure going up against him all these years.

“I was asked after the game if I thought it was going to be the last time or anything like that, honestly I was just going up to him to pay respect the 10 years that I’ve been going up against him, how much I appreciate the challenge every time. Hats off for him for being that great.”

He added that he believes Belichick has a lot more to offer the NFL regardless of whether his long storied spell in New England comes to a close.

Kelce explained: “Whatever the situations going on there, it might not be it. I think that guy has got some football left in him.”

Meanwhile, there has been some fallout after the game owing to a controversy over the balls which saw Harrison Butker miss his first field goal of the season.
