L’Jarius Sneed has parted ways officially with the Kansas City Chiefs in a massive offseason trade to the Tennessee Titans.
Due to the implications of a struggling cap space, the two-time Super Bowl winner will not be a part of the ‘three-peat’ aspiring team.
Sneed secures his future in Nashville
Sneed was going to be playing on the tag worth $19.8 million next season but the Chiefs have secured his departure.
Kansas City will be swapping their seventh-round pick with the Titans and have their third-round pick in 2025.
This is one of the more confusing elements of the trade.

Undoubtedly, the defensive back was the best in his position on the market.
Moreover, there was optimistic chatter that the Chiefs could secure a late first-round pick or even a second and a third together.
However, they only received a third-rounder in 2025 and a swap pick in the last round of the upcoming draft.
Many people deemed the cornerback to have more valuable draft capital compared to what came to fruition.
Could the Chiefs have received more?
Former NFL scout John Middlekauff was perplexed at the deal the Chiefs received.
On his 3 and Out podcast, he refers to this shock: “I think the most ‘wow’ part of this trade was most people, including myself, thought that an All-pro, elite-level impact guy, at a premium position, would go for a lot.
“A late first-round pick, maybe a two and a three. And when I get a text message saying he’s been traded and you look at what he got traded for it was pretty shocking.”
Around the NFL world people are very surprised at the Chiefs part of the deal.
The 27-year-old did not give up a touchdown in coverage until the AFC Divisional round against the Buffalo Bills.
Therefore, Sneed is a lockdown corner in a premium position, including two rings.
Chiefs did not want to deal with ‘drama’
Middlekauff did have a theory as to why the Chiefs were satisfied to give this deal a green light: “The easy answer is they (Chiefs) didn’t want to deal with the drama.
“They don’t want to deal with a guy who probably wouldn’t have showed up in training camp and probably week one he gets there and it’s just a little weird.”
Nonetheless, the deal has been sanctioned and Sneed is a Titan.
Reports have emerged that there is a lot of respect between the Chiefs and Sneed, which could be telling in this deal.
