Sports retailers are making lots of money off the popularity of Micah Parsons.
During the 2023 NFL season, Parsons’ #11 jersey flew off store shelves, becoming a top seller at the sports apparel store Lids.
The retail outlet has locations in Canada, the United States and Puerto Rico.
What makes Micah Parsons so popular?
When you make the Pro Bowl in every one of your seasons as a professional, are named Defensive Rookie of the Year and are a part of the First-team All-Pro, people will know who you are quickly.
For the Dallas Cowboys linebacker, though, it’s not just his outstanding play on the field that makes him popular.
His podcast, The Edge, evidently gets plenty of traffic, while his rants on X also generate buzz.
In 2023, Parsons had a career-best 103 quarterback pressures, leading the league in that department.
He pressured QBs on 20.1% of his pass rushes, the most among NFL defenders.

Parsons and DaRon Bland were nominated for NFL Defensive Player of the Year, though Myles Garrett took home the award.
Even so, it’s no surprise that Parsons’ jersey is a hot sell.
However, Parsons beat out some other pretty big superstars for jersey sales.
Who are some of the other players on the list?
The biggest surprise is seeing Parsons outsell jerseys likes of Patrick Mahomes, Christian McCaffrey, Tyreek Hill and Lamar Jackson.
Parsons even outdid his teammate Dak Prescott, who came in at number five on the list.
While Parsons had a splendid season, stats like pressures are more advanced and aren’t as evident as the others.
Some of the names Parsons outsold were leaders in several talked about statistical categories.
Hill led the league in receiving yards, Prescott in TD passes, McCaffrey in rushing, Mahomes is in another Super Bowl and Lamar Jackson just won league MVP.
Here’s a rundown of the top 10 jerseys sold at Lids in 2023.
- Micah Parsons, LB, Dallas Cowboys
- Patrick Mahomes, QB, Kansas City Chiefs
- Jalen Hurts, QB, Philadelphia Eagles
- T.J. Watt, LB, Pittsburgh Steelers
- Dak Prescott, QB, Dallas Cowboys
- Christian McCaffrey, RB, San Francisco 49ers
- Tyreek Hill, WR, Miami Dolphins
- Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
- Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings
- Aaron Rodgers, QB, New York Jets
What were the biggest jerseys that didn’t make the list?
The most surprising name that didn’t make the top 10 is probably Travis Kelce.
Given how much the league brand has grown since his public romance with Taylor Swift, you’d think more fans, be it fair weather and bandwagon or something else, would be purchasing Kelce uniforms.
Interestingly, Kelce didn’t have a top-10 selling jersey in any of the 48 US states that Lids has data on.
CeeDee Lamb’s name was also nowhere to be seen.
This is surprising, given the records he smashed during the 2023 campaign both in the NFL and with the Cowboys this season.
What teams had the best-selling jerseys?
When it comes to team uniforms, the Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers were in the top positions.
