The Dallas Cowboys have already passed key milestones in preparation for the 2024 NFL season and are encroaching on one of the most important years in the franchise’s history.
Dak Prescott and Mike McCarthy are both entering contract years and the 2024 season will determine if they remain in place or a massive rebuild commences.
So here are all the key dates that Cowboy Nation must know for the pivotal 2024 season.
When do the next OTAs start for the Dallas Cowboys?
America’s Team has already participated in some OTAs, in which key player CeeDee Lamb has withdrawn from to leverage a new deal.
The next scheduled OTA is set to take place from May 22nd to 23rd.
Furthermore, further OTAs are set for May 25, May 30, June 1-2, and June 13-15.
When does the mandatory minicamp start in the offseason?
As said in the name, all players are required to attend the minicamp barring an acceptable reason. Therefore, Lamb is required to show but is not expected to if a deal has not been agreed to by then.
The mandatory minicamp is scheduled to take place from June 6-8, before the final offseason OTAs.
When does the Cowboys’ preseason training camp begin?
Just like they traditionally do, the Cowboys are set to participate in their preseason training camp in California.
The Dallas players’ scheduled training camp will run from July 26th to August 15th, with players expected to report in on July 25th before camp officially begins.
When does preseason start for the Dallas Cowboys?
The Dallas Cowboys are scheduled to play a West Coast-based preseason, as they visit the Los Angeles Rams and Las Vegas Raiders on the road.
Then they round off their three-match preseason with a return to AT&T Stadium to face the Los Angeles Chargers.
Dates and times are still to be determined by the NFL for the preseason calendar but you should expect them to start just after mid-August.
When is the Dallas Cowboys’ opening game of the 2024 season?
America’s Team is on the road in their first game as they travel to the Cleveland Browns on the 8th of September.
In addition, they are the first televised game for FOX on the new season and kick-off at 3:25 PM.
When are the Cowboys scheduled to play their divisional rivals?
September 22 – On the road against the New York Giants.
November 10 – At home against the Philadelphia Eagles.
November 24 – On the road against the Washington Commanders
November 28 – At home against the New York Giants
December 29 – On the road against the Philadelphia Eagles
January 4 or 5 (TBD) – At home against the Washington Commanders
When are the 2024 NFL playoffs scheduled?
If the Dallas Cowboys earn their spot in the NFL playoffs, which they have done so for the last three seasons. The Wildcard round takes place between January 11-13. Next, the Divisional Round is set for January 18-19. After, the NFC Conference final is penned in for January 26th. Finally, Super Bowl LIX is February 9.
