The Dallas Cowboys will play their opening game of the 2024 season against the Cleveland Browns.
The duel will be televised on FOX, and the network is advertising the matchup as “America’s Game of the Week”. It will also be the broadcast on which Tom Brady will make his debut as an analyst.
Although it’s only Week 1, there’s a lot involved in this Cowboys vs Browns. Dak Prescott and Deshaun Watson have a great track record in the league and are in different moments, but at the same time, they’re in similar situations.
Plus, the spectacle that two of the best edge rushers in the NFL always deliver: Micah Parsons and Myles Garrett.
The presence of several good players in both squads raises the potential for the teams to put on a great game.

Who’s got more to prove, Dak or Deshaun
On the Dallas side, the organisation’s plans will be based on what the team delivers on the pitch. In other words, in Prescott’s case, there’s a good chance that his contract will only be renewed if the quarterback manages to advance beyond the Wild Card.
In Cleveland, Watson is going through a moment of proving himself. Injuries have hampered his performance and since arriving at the franchise, he’s only been a starter in 12 games and his record is 8-4. If he’s healthy, he could be a threat.
On Tuesday’s edition of the Speak show, LeSean McCoy analysed the situation of the two QBs and answered the question ‘who has more to gain this season: Dak or Deshaun?’
“I’m gonna go to Char Watson. The last thing I could think of Deshaun Watson outside of a Browns uniform is he was exciting, he was electrifying. You want the ball in his hands because he can throw it, make all the passes in the pocket or outside the pocket. The play breaks down he can run the ball – that’s the Deshaun Watson I know. Nobody looks at him like that no more.”
McCoy already knows what to expect from Prescott
The former Kansas City Chiefs player didn’t hesitate to say that he’s not worried about what he’ll see from the America’s Team signal-caller: “I don’t worry about Dak Prescott. He’ll be good in the regular season, that’s what he does.”
He didn’t dwell on the subject of Dak Prescott and continued to talk about Cleveland’s veteran.
“I’m worried about Deshaun Watson. Show me just a little bit, 60% of the guy we used to love,” claimed Shady. “He was special.”
No wonder Watson has $32 million guaranteed with the Browns. The franchise believes in him. He just hasn’t found his old form as an elite QB. If he manages to play the whole season without any injuries, that’s a step forward.
Prescott, meanwhile, despite the results, is expected to renew his contract with the Cowboys. That seems to be the way forward, because Jerry Jones has opted not to sign or draft any quarterbacks. And he always reiterates that the focus is on extending Dak.
