Over the years, many great names have led America’s Team to the promised land, but none possess the leadership qualities quite like their current starting quarterback.
That’s according to Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who had high praise for Dak Prescott this week.
Jones has owned this team since 1989; over that time, he’s seen his share of iconic names dawn the silver star.
Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, Michael Irvin and Deion Sanders are just some of the megastars who’ve delivered a Lombardi Trophy to Dallas.
Jimmy Johnson coached the Cowboys to back-to-back Super Bowls in the 90s when many considering him one of the most inspirational figures to patrol the NFL sidelines.
According to Jones, Prescott is the greatest leader of them all.
In a recent interview he said Prescott’s qualities go beyond what he shows on the field.
“We’ve never had a better leader,” Jones said. “Dak Prescott is the best ‘Pied Piper’ for everybody. I’m not just talking about the team; I’m talking about the coaches. He is the ‘Pied Piper’ of the team.”

Prescott is doing it all
Dak is showing us this season the ability to lead this team both on and off the field.
He and teammate DaRon Bland were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Month for November.
Bland had a rough outing versus Seattle, while Prescott kept this team on the winning track.
It isn’t only his 70.1 completion percentage or his 26 TD passes to six interceptions that have him in the conversation for league MVP though.
Prescott continuously escapes pressure, moving the chains with his arm and legs and making completions in tight windows.
Near the tail end of their Thursday night affair, he also fired the defense up to make a big stop and preserve the victory.
“Turn me the (bleep) up!” Dak barked encouragingly to the defense, adding something to the effective of, “I trust y’all. We went and did our job. Now it’s your turn to return the favor. And we’ll end this thing … Win the (bleeping) game!”
“That’s my quarterback”
His teammate Micah Parsons was among those who took Dak’s words to heart on that final drive.
Parsons believes Prescott can be the guy to lead them to a Super Bowl title.
“That’s my quarterback right there. … This is the type of quarterback that’s going to win us the Super Bowl,” Parsons said.
Those words may make you think of a tearful Terrell Owens talking about Tony Romo after losing to the New York Giants in 2007.
Prescott was 29 of 41 for 299 yards and three scores on Thursday, posting 16 TD tosses and just one pick in November.
His Cowboys face a tough test next weekend, hosting the league-leading Philadelphia Eagles.
Only one of their remaining five games are against teams currently with a sub .500 record (the Washington Commanders).
