An outstanding month of November by a pair of Cowboys has not gone unnoticed by the NFL.
Dak Prescott and DaRon Bland were named the Offensive and Defensive Players of the Month in the NFC for November before the Dallas Cowboys Thursday night contest against the Seattle Seahawks.
Bland broke the NFL’s single-season pick-six record last month and currently leads the league in interceptions.
Prescott was sensational behind centre in November, with 16 touchdown throws and just one interception.
It is the first time either of them has claimed that monthly award, with Dak becoming the first offensive one to be named Player of the Month since 2014.
During that 2014 campaign, the Cowboys ironically had three players capture a Player of the Month Award, including Tony Romo and DeMarco Murray with the latter winning it twice that year.

The two Cowboys (Bland and Prescott) are the first NFL players on the same team to win the monthly awards at the same time since the Los Angeles Rams’ Todd Gurley and Aaron Donald did it in 2018.
Here’s a closer look at what Prescott and Bland accomplished in November.
Prescott’s Memorable Month
Prescott was the model of consistency throughout last month, showing he’d put that dismal Sunday night affair in San Francisco behind him.
Not counting their Thursday night showdown against the Seahawks, Prescott made 102 of 149 passes in November (.684 percent).
He was 29 of 41 for 299 yards and three scores on Thursday, so the 16 TDs mentioned above are his entire total for November.
DaRon Bland with a breakout month
On Thursday against Seattle, Bland looked human for the first time in November, as D.K. Metcalf beat him numerous times, registering six catches for 134 yards and three scores.
Despite a rough showing to end the month, though, it was a sensational few weeks for the sixth-round pick.
Bland still collected his eighth interception of the season on Thursday while also leading the Cowboys in tackles (five).
His five pick-sixes in 2023 set a new NFL single-season record and a new one in Cowboys history as well.
On the heels of some Cowboy legends
Already this year, four Cowboys have claimed monthly awards, with Micah Parsons winning defensive honours in September and Brandon Aubrey for special teams in October.
With his Player of the Month Award, Prescott joins Terrell Owens and Troy Aikman as the others to win the offensive monthly honours with America’s Team.
Romo won the monthly offensive award four times during his days in Dallas, one fewer than the most in club history, which came courtesy of Emmitt Smith.
One more for Aubrey, and he would surpass Jason Tucker, Richie Cunningham and Chris Boniol for the most ever with the Cowboys on the special teams’ side.
Bland and Parsons, meanwhile join Trevon Diggs and DeMarcus Lawrence on the defensive side for those awards, all of whom have one.
They only need one more to match the all-time defensive mark in franchise history currently held by Sean Lee.
