On First Take today (4 October), certified Cowboys hater Stephen A. Smith said Dallas will be ‘exposed’ against the 49ers this weekend. Smith also made a bold prediction about Dak Prescott over the next few weeks.

The Dallas Cowboys and San Francisco 49ers face each other at Levi’s Stadium in Week 5 of the NFL this Sunday. The Cowboys are coming off a 38-3 win against the New England Patriots in Week 4 while the undefeated 49ers beat Arizona 35-16. It’s a mouth-watering matchup, pitting one of the NFL’s best defences against one of its best offences.

Cowboys have a chance to avenge last two playoff losses

The 49ers have been a thorn in the Cowboys’ side for the last two seasons, dumping Dallas out of the playoffs in the last two postseasons. San Francisco had a 23-17 wild-card win on January 16, 2022, at AT&T Stadium, and beat the Cowboys 19-12 in the divisional round last season.

Dallas QB Dak Prescott had underwhelming performances in both games. In the recent playoff encounter he passed for 206 yards, a touchdown and two costly interceptions, including one at the San Francisco 12 when the score was tied in the second quarter.

A win this weekend would go a long way to redeeming those two losses. It would also send a message out to the rest of the league that the Cowboys ought be taken seriously this season.

Cowboys hater Stephen A. Smith thinks Dallas will be ‘exposed’ against 49ers this weekend

One person who isn’t expecting much from the Cowboys this weekend if certified hater Stephen A. Smith. He appeared on First Take today (4 October) where he said Mike McCarthy’s team will be exposed against the 49ers.

Smith started out by wishing a speedy recovery to Trevon Diggs before commenting that the cornerback’s absence compromises the Cowboys’ defense.

Smith then joked about Dallas entrusting Prescott to throw the football before predicting the quarterback would throw two interceptions, one of which would come at a crucial moment.

“Of course the Dallas Cowboys are about to be exposed”, he said. “You can book that, baby.”

“Dallas Cowboys fans are going to be ticked off Sunday evening”, Smith added. “This brother [Prescott] gonna’ throw a couple of picks.”

Smith thinks Dak will throw “eight interceptions over the next five weeks”

As the segment went on, Smith said the Cowboys’ next four games (at 49ers, at Chargers, Rams, at Eagles) would tell us a lot about Dallas this season.

‘Prophet’ Stephen A. then made the bold prediction that not only would Dak throw two interceptions against the 49ers, he’d throw two in each of the next four games.

“Eight interceptions over the next five weeks!”, he exclaimed.

While Stephen A’s words will be like water off a duck’s back for Cowboys fans, he does have a point: the 49ers matchup and subsequent three games will provide a measuring stick as to where this team is currently at.

It’s up to Dak and the rest of the team to get the win and prove to haters like Stephen A. they’ve finally turned a corner.
