Still unsure if he’ll be a Cowboy in the future, Dak Prescott is going to give it his all in the 2024 season.
The talk of expecting ‘more leaves to fall’ from the Dallas Cowboys executive board is still alive and kicking.
Dak Prescott is not the only player in the franchise who is still without a new deal to remain in the squad for the long term. Perhaps this will take some of the pressure off him…
Not having the veteran quarterback in 2025 could mean a rebuild is coming.

Prescott isn’t worried about money
A few days ago, the signal-caller said during a press conference that he doesn’t play for money and that he’s not taking his contract situation personally.
He’s focused on the season ahead and understands that he’s the one most responsible for leading his team to glory.
What’s more, Prescott can’t be traded or even put on the franchise tag – in other words, he either stays or he goes.
Mike McCarthy impressed with QB’s offseason
On Wednesday, Cowboys’ head coach spoke to the media about the quarterback’s behaviour during practice this offseason.
Mike McCarthy is very happy about what he’s seeing from his leader: “I think Dak is having his best offseason program that we’ve had,” said.
He elaborated: “This atmosphere that we’ve practiced in with the quarterback and receivers has really hit the mark. I’ve been very impressed with the quality of work… With the quarterback, when the connection is there in the perimeter realm – and that’s been the majority of our physical activity – the connection is better. The receivers are playing with more urgency, more reps. The timing is better. The real test will be when we get to training camp.”
Keep in mind that the HC is also in his final year with the franchise and should only stay if his work translates into wins – in the playoffs, preferably.
Prescott commented on McCarthy’s speech
Dallas’ franchise QB agreed with everything the coach reported to the media. According to Prescott, it’s all about what the game means to him and the fact that the entire unit has benefited from McCarthy making the offensive calls in 2023.
“The growth in my play and the jump I’m making is the second year in his offense as well, being more comfortable with the footwork,” claimed. “The receivers around me, their second year in it, they’re more comfortable, they’re more confident.”
Communication has been decisive for the evolution and improvement of the group as a whole.
“Things are just faster off the line from the huddle through the play to the scramble drill when it doesn’t work, we are truly understanding, everybody understands, I guess. It just makes the communication, my approach and allowing me to play with more confidence.”
