The Kansas City Chiefs have thrown their name into the mix for the best NFL offseason of 2024 after their latest extensions.
Yesterday, the Chiefs revealed the trifecta of Andy Reid, Brett Veach and Mark Donovan have all signed new deals.
Questions marks surrounded Andy Reid’s future with some reporters suggesting retirement could be on the table.
However, Big Red brushed off those ideas and has signed a deal to see him as the Chiefs head coach through to 2029.
Andy Reid agrees record deal to make him the highest-paid head coach
In addition, the new deal is reported to make the three-time Super Bowl winner the highest-paid head coach in history.
Per The Athletic, the figure Reid is set to earn is north of $18 million per year.
One of the greatest dynasties in sporting history is set to retain its captain for another six years.

As Bill Belichick failed to secure a job in the offseason, Reid is the oldest head coach in the NFL and has shown no signs of losing his touch.
The 66-year-old is already set to finish his career as one of the greatest coaches of all time but he could break two colossal records.
Andy Reid’s new deal makes him poised to break two NFL records
If the unison of Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid continues to flourish, the latter could break the head coaches NFL records: All-time regular season wins and all-time postseason wins.
Moreover, if Andy Reid averages 12.5 regular season wins, which he has with Mahomes as his starting quarterback, Reid would break Don Shula’s 258 regular-season win record.
Reid will break Shula’s long-standing record by the 2029 season if the Chiefs maintain the 12.5-win average.
Bill Belichick’s record is under threat if he does not return to coaching
Furthermore, Big Red is also coming for Bill Belichick’s postseason record.
The eight-time Super Bowl winner has 31 playoff wins while Andy Reid sits on 26.
If Reid continues to win 2.5 postseason games per year, which he has with Mahomes, he will surpass the record in 2026.
Nonetheless, Belichick is hopeful to return to coaching in 2025 and the Dallas Cowboys are a landing spot.
If the serial winner does return, then the record may become harder to chase down.
