Micah Parsons has been one of the best defensive stars in the league after just three seasons.

Still on his rookie deal, Parsons has been competing with veteran stars such as T.J. Watt and Myles Garrett for the NFL Defensive Player of the Year awards.

The 24-year-old has already asserted himself as one of the best linebackers in the business.

Parsons agrees to ‘team-friendly’ fifth-year extension

During the offseason, Parsons agreed to his fifth-year extension in Dallas as a first-rounder.

Moreover, the deal was sanctioned playing as a defensive end which is cheaper for the Cowboys.

The ‘team-friendly’ deal helps the Cowboys save $2.7 million on the cap in his fifth year.

Nonetheless, that is valuable money the linebacker is set to miss out on come 2025.

Parsons’ exceptional talent has caught the eye of many profiles and has received praise in abundance.

Jason Kelce full of praise for the Cowboys’ star

Recently retired Jason Kelce heaped praise on the young player during his podcast.

Kelce says that Parsons has ‘taken another step this year’ and will continue to improve.

Recently, another retired player has praised the Cowboys linebacker.

Aaron Donald announced his retirement from the NFL over a week ago and will go down as one of the greatest-ever NFL defensive players.

The 10-time Pro Bowler recently appeared in an exclusive interview on the Green Light podcast.

Aaron acknowledges ‘upcoming’ Micah Parsons

Donald said T.J. Watt was the best defensive star in the NFL in the wake of his retirement.

However, the Super Bowl LVI champion said Micah Parsons is ‘upcoming’.

Donald hints that Parsons is closing the gap with T.J. Watt and is pursuing a charge for the top spot.

Parsons is entering his fourth year as a Cowboy and was in the mix for Defensive Player of the Year in 2023.

That accolade fell to Garrett who registered 14 sacks last season with Parsons finishing level.

The future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald has noticed Parsons’ raw talent and upcoming pedigree.

Ultimately, Parsons will try and emulate the same decorated career of Donald, hopefully as a Cowboy.
