AT&T Stadium home of the Dallas Cowboys
Welcome to the home stadium of the Dallas Cowboys American football team, AT&T Stadium. Despite this, the stadium is also referred to by numerous other names: Jerry World, The Death Star, The Palace in Dallas and The Cowboys Cathedral. After construction the stadium was originally known as the ‘Cowboys Stadium’ in 2009.
Jerry Jones, the owner, agreed to a lucrative naming rights deal with company AT&T for the stadium sponsorship. The stadium rights were sold for a staggering $17-19 million per year.

AT&T Stadium successfully swung open its door for Cowboys fans in 2009 as the heartbeat of football in the state of Texas. It replaced the Texas Stadium where the Dallas Cowboys had called home from 1971 to 2008.
The initial cost of the stadium was reported to be $650 million, however the price of construction rose north of $1.5 billion making it one of the most expensive sports venues in the world.
To aid Jerry Jones in his dream of developing a state-of-the-art footballing colosseum, the City of Arlington agreed to raise their taxes with the additional money invested into the stadium development – highlighting the love and passion football brings.
Additionally, the NFL stood by their policy of facilitating the construction of league stadiums and granted $150 million to the Cowboys.
‘The Cowboys Cathedral’ money was invested strategically to produce one of the most luxurious stadia within the United States, if not the world. A retractable roof was built to prevent the weather from impacting any of the games, protecting the pitch from deterioration and providing fans with an exceptional experience when being shielded from the elements.
AT&T Stadium holds 80,000 Dallas Cowboys fans on a gameday, although can be reconfigured to hold over 100,000 fans if required.
Therefore, the stadium is the largest in terms of seating capacity within the NFL. ‘America’s Team’ boasts the largest ever attendance in a singular game in the NFL. On September 21st, 2009, the Dallas Cowboys hosted NFC East division rivals the New York Giants and accommodated 105,121 rumbustious fans.
AT&T Stadium was successfully selected to be one of the stadium hosts for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which sees the collaborative hosting of Mexico, Canada and the United States of America. Furthermore, the stadium will no doubt go under further renovations as they prepare to host one of the most prestigious tournaments in the world.
Within AT&T Stadium lays the largest twin high-definition video boards in the world. Jerry Jones considered very carefully the design of the complex as he wanted the stadium to be multifunctional.
Events held at AT&T Stadium
Besides hosting NFL games, the lavish stadium can operate on multiple fronts and can host a variety of events. Concerts, basketball games, motorcross, soccer games and much more are organised at the AT&T Stadium.
With college football being a cornerstone of the sporting culture which sweeps across The States, proudly the Dallas Cowboys host multiple college games throughout the sporting calendar. The Cotton Bowl Classic and the Big 12 Championship Game are held annually within the grounds of the stadium. Traditionally, the college football rivalry between the Arkansas Razorbacks and the Texas A&M Aggies is fiercely contested in front of a boisterous crowd.
Additionally, the Cowboys home stadium has had the privilege of hosting massive events outside of the American football world.
Canelo Alvarez unified the super-middleweight division when he defeated Billy Joe Saunders in front of a record crowd for an indoor boxing event in the United States with 73,126 spectators. Subsequently, WrestleMania 38 was hosted at AT&T Stadium with an enormous 131,372 attending over the two days.
37 concerts have been hosted at AT&T Stadium up until the present day with artists from Taylor Swift and the Jonas Brothers to Ed Sheeran and Post Malone. The impeccable facilities of the stadium open endless opportunities for event hosting.
