Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been the team’s most reliable target for the past decade.
Travis Kelce is once again the Kansas City Chiefs most productive pass catcher with 924 yards. The tight end has new competition this season, though.
Rookie wideout Rashee Rice is coming on strong with 754 receiving yards and leads the team for touchdowns, with seven to Kelce’s five.
Rice set a record in the win over the Patriots, the most receiving touchdowns for any rookie wide receiver in Chiefs franchise history.

Kelce talks up Rice
Travis Kelce is hugely impressed with Rice and is encouraged to see the young talent coming through as his career enters it’s latter stages.
The Chiefs have desperately needed receiving help this season, and Rice has been the lone bright spot in the receiver room.
Kelce told his podcast: “I’m proud as hell for him. He’s slowly been taking more and more responsibility as this year’s gone on and him and Patrick [Mahomes] have been able to, up to this point create a great relationship and a common ground in big key moments too.
“I’m talking about third downs when we need it most, his game’s going to keep growing.”
In addition to talking up the connection Rice has with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Kelce says head coach Andy Reid deserves a lot of credit too, and is pleased to see a young player benefitting as he once did.
Kelce explained: “I think coach Reid does a great job with young players. I know because he helped me out as a young player.
“He’s going to keep putting Rashee in great places to have success, utilising his skillset moving forward.”
Kelce added that Rice himself deserves credit for his devotion to improvement, commenting: “It just seems like he’s taken a lot more ownership through the week and in games and I’m excited as hell for him.”
