The Dallas Cowboys are fighting the offseason battle against themselves and the opinions of the media.
Their offseason has crumbled after Jerry Jones’ ‘all in’ comments got people thinking ‘Could this be the Cowboys’ year’?
Instead, their lack of free agency activity has deflated the optimism and is now at rock bottom.
CeeDee Lamb future questioned
Cowboy fans are probably sick to death of hearing about Dak Prescott’s contract.
However, they could have further contract problems on the horizon after CeeDee Lamb was rumored to consider abstaining from offseason workouts.

The 25-year-old wide receiver is entering the fifth year of his rookie deal and knows he is in line to be paid.
After the suggestion of workout refusal emerged, a reporter spoke to Lamb in a shop about the situation.
Ultimately, the receiver said that he would be in Dallas and on the team.
Cowboys media shows that Lamb is content with the situation
The Cowboys media team jumped straight on the conversation and spun the words said in their favor.
They implied that Lamb’s words and demeanor showed he was happy with his contract in Dallas.
Mandatory minicamps start this week for America’s Team and Lamb could hold out from practice.
Nonetheless, the Cowboys media said: “Doesn’t sound like the tone of a player who is worried about his future with the Cowboys.”
With his smile on display ‘more evidence’ to show his satisfaction.
Nevertheless, Mike Florio did not buy the angle the Cowboys were trying to promote on Lamb’s remarks.
Florio says the Cowboys should be ‘fixing the damn problem’
Florio believed that Lamb saying he will be in Dallas does not correlate to him abstaining from offseason workouts.
On Pro Football Talk today, he proclaimed: “It’s completely different from whether or not he is gonna stay away from the offseason program.
“He’s still on the team, he’s just not showing up for the offseason program because your only leverage is to withhold services. It’s two completely different concepts. But the Cowboys seized on that and posted an item on their team website torturing the logic, ignoring that it is two completely different concepts.
“The Cowboys are trying to make this connection and act like everything is fine, instead of just fixing the damn problem.”
Florio displays his exasperation with the Cowboys media trying to twist the narrative into their favor.
Holdouts have historically worked in Dallas
Yes, Lamb will be in Dallas. Yes, he will be on the team. That does not mean he will not exercise his leverage and refuse to train.
Moreover, holding out from training has worked in the past for many talented players.
Jerry Jones has stated he still regrets the Ezekiel Elliott situation and has learned from it.
NFL players want financial security, if Lamb wants it and the Cowboys do not cough up the money, then he may turn to a holdout.
