Day 2 of the NFL Draft has wrapped up and the Cowboys were on the clock three times but missed out says Skip Bayless.

After a productive first-day drafting starting left tackle Tyler Guyton, the Dallas Cowboys selected two linebackers and an offensive lineman.

Rookies, Marist Liufau, Marshawn Kneeland, and Cooper Beebe with be throwing on the blue and white jersey in 2024.

However, round three did not start as smoothly as Jerry Jones had hoped.

His favorite running back of the 2024 Draft class, Jonathon Brooks, was poached by the Carolina Panthers.

The franchise was ‘zeroed in on’ the local rusher out of Texas but was too late in their selection.

Skip Bayless has been left angry on X after the Cowboys missed out on another highly-rated running back.

Before Dallas selected linebacker Liufau with the 87^th pick, the Los Angeles Rams landed a steal by picking Blake Corum only four choices earlier.

“Built and timed just like Emmitt. Similar balance. Cowboys badly needed him. I would have taken him with that earlier extra 3rd-rd pick. Bummer. Letdown. Loss.”

Bayless is left disappointed at the Cowboys’ lack of urgency to choose a rusher in the early rounds.

Corum is even compared to Dallas’ legendary running back Emmitt Smith to emphasize the impact he could have had.

Furthermore, the 23-year-old entered the NFL Draft as a National Champion with the Michigan Wolverines.

The rusher will call Los Angeles his new home as he gears up to play on the Rams roster.

Dallas could be forced to trade up if more rushers are taken on Day 3

On Day 3, the Cowboys do not hold a fourth-round pick and would have to wait until round five to target a running back.

This reality could force Jerry Jones to draft up as more talent will be taken off the board.
