She was “Fearless” enough to change loyalties, pun intended, and the reigning league MVP is grateful to have the famous singer join the fan club.

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently sat down with CBS Mornings to speak about the ongoing relationship between his teammate Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift.

Mahomes admittedly said that he and his teammates were initially uncomfortable about the two being together.

“Everybody stayed away” and “just let [Kelce] do what he was doing,” says Mahomes.

Swift is becoming a featured attraction at Chiefs games.

She was in the stands for her first KC encounter in September versus the Chicago Bears,

Following that game, Mahomes says he met Swift for the first time with both attending a party organized by Kelce’s friends and family.

At the time, Mahomes says that he didn’t say anything out of respect for Kelce, who wanted some privacy.

Swift Made a Strong First Impression

The star QB says the superstar singer met his family during an afternoon affair with the Los Angeles Chargers.

He says his mother, Randi and Patrick’s little sister, Mia Randall, had nothing but good things to say about her.

According to the Chiefs’ QB, his wife Brittany is also fond of Swift.

“It’s cool that she’s embraced Brittany, and they’ve built a friendship as well,” Patrick told CBS.

“So, for me, it’s Travis, man, and he’s lucky enough to be with a great girl and a great woman, and it’s been cool to interact with her.”

After the Chiefs’ victory over Chicago, Swift and Brittany were sitting together regularly.

Match Made in Heaven?

Mahomes says he’s “glad that she’s the person that she is.”

He adds, “That’s why I think her and Travis match so well.”

According to Mahomes, it was a joke with teammates initially before he and the team got to know Swift.

“Then, he started bringing Taylor around, and he realized how cool of a person she was, and she is, and so for us, there were a couple of jokes here and there at the beginning,” Patrick admitted.

“She’s top-tier at her profession, and to see how she drives, and she becomes that — Dude, it’s really cool to hear about and to see, and now I have a first-hand look at that through Brittany and Travis’ eyes.”

Swift grew up in Pennsylvania with her and the family being die-hard Eagles fans.

That’s no longer the case since Travis Kelce came into her life.

Mahomes says he couldn’t be happier to have her join the KC fan base.

“She’s just part of Chiefs Kingdom,” says Mahomes.

“And she’s part of the team.”

Swift was in South America for her ERAS tour in November.

She’s been present for the last three Chief contests and could be around for their final three regular-season encounters.

Her ERAS tour continues on February 7 in Japan.
