Last Wednesday, a photo went viral on social media of a young player who looked just like Mahomes.

In every way: hair, facial hair, clothes, sunglasses and mannerisms. Also, the jersey number is 15.

The guy’s name is Dylan Raiola, he’s the freshman quarterback at the University of Nebraska.

The 19-year-old turned up at the Nebraska Cornhuskers training camp and attracted attention for his resemblance to the three-time Super Bowl champion.

The photo was so popular on X, formerly Twitter, that it reached the NFL players themselves.

Tyreek Hill commented on the resemblance between the two QBs and tagged Mahomes.

Chiefs’ signal-caller responded with a sense of humour.

Raiola almost spent time training with Mahomes in the offseason

Dylan Raiola has never hidden his admiration for Mahomes. In fact, he’s always been very open about it.

In April, he gave an interview saying that he intended to work with the QB and his coach.

“I just want to be around greatness. Obviously he’s going down as one of the greats already. But just trying to take it all in and elevate my game as much as I can,” said.

Raiola’s hype is high. In his freshman campaign, 247Sports ranked him as a 5-star prospect, the 7th overall recruit and the 1st quarterback in the class of 2024.

The Huskers have a substantial losing record and have failed to reach a bowl game in seven consecutive seasons. The young quarterback could be the start of a new phase at Nebraska.

He’s already got the physical resemblance to Mahomes, now all that’s left is for him to blaze a trail and one day succeed in the NFL.
